DescriptionThe whole story▼
Fogging starts where your breath hits the visor, usually at the first set of traffic lights on a cold morning. A breath guard sits in the chin area under your nose and turns that air downwards before it reaches the inside of the visor. AC83010P is the small version: Shark calls it LITTLE BREATH GUARD, and the French line says MASQUE ANTI BUEE PT MODELE, anti-fog mask, small model.

Supplied as
One breath guard, nothing else. Two other numbers carry the name LARGE BREATH GUARD: AC83020P at the same price as this one and AC83025P at 24.11 EUR with the code CU. If the guard you are replacing is the bigger of the two sizes, one of those is yours, not AC83010P.
How it goes on
The fact sheet does not describe the attachment for a particular helmet, and Shark names no helmet range for this number. Take the old guard out slowly and note how it is held, then put the new one into exactly the same spot. If it does not sit flush against the chin area without forcing, stop and compare the numbers again before bending anything.
Care
Warm water and a drop of mild soap are enough. Let it dry away from a radiator before you put it back, because a guard that goes in damp keeps moisture right where you are trying to get rid of it.
When to replace it
A breath guard lives in the wettest spot of the helmet and is flexed every time the helmet goes on or comes off. Once the edge has curled so the air slips past it, or it no longer stays in its seat, the visor mists up again, and that is the moment for a new one.
