DescriptionThe whole story

Three laps is all a hard-ridden 820 RR needs to put its front brake at the top of its window. ZCOO covers the ZXMoto 820 RR with the B005, a 102.2 by 42.0 mm face carried on 8.05 mm of total section. The B005 in EXR is the harder of the two mixtures ZCOO currently lists for the 820 RR.

Key Features

  • Ceramic sintering keeps the coefficient of friction stable across the temperature swing a 820 RR sees in a single descent
  • No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this compound - treat the B005 as a track and competition part
  • Laser-cut backing plate holds the friction face flat when the Brembo caliper spreads under peak line pressure
  • The B005 shape also serves 117 further machines in the ZCOO 2026 catalogue, so availability stays good
  • Compatible with the standard Brembo retaining pin and spring of the 820 RR - nothing else to buy
  • A pad geometry drawn for this caliper family rather than shared across three of them, which is why the B005 fills its window

Construction and Material Quality

What sits behind the friction material on a B005 matters as much as the mixture itself. On a face of 102.2 by 42.0 mm even a small amount of plate flex changes where the pressure lands. The effect is a B005 that presents the same geometry to the disc near the wear limit as it did new.

Performance and Feel

The second phase of braking is where a compound either holds or gives up, and that is what ZCOO changed. That is the part of the zone where the pad has already absorbed most of its heat and the rider is still adjusting. Which on an 820 RR is the whole reason to change compound in the first place.

Fitment and Compatibility

The B005 is ZCOO's listed reference for the ZXMoto 820 RR between 2026 and 2026. The same B005 shape covers 117 further machines in the 2026 catalogue. Nothing in the ZCOO range fits the rear axle of the 820 RR. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 102.2 mm length and 42.0 mm height.

Road Approval

No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
