For the 125 Duke the price list is not tidy. The entry that has served this model since 2017 was never closed off, and PM293P14 opens in 2024, so a machine built in 2025 finds two Sprint Filter codes carrying its name. That is untidy paperwork rather than a fault in either element, and it has one practical consequence worth stating plainly: on this model the build year is the question you have to ask, not an answer you can lean on.
Key Features
- Fine dry nonwoven medium: 14 microns of filtration, 1,800 l/m²/sec of flow
- Drawn for the airbox of the 2024-on 125 Duke, not for the earlier housing
- Never oiled, so nothing sticky sits upstream of the throttle body
- Fits in place of the paper panel with no cutting, no packers and no remapping
- Blown through with an air line and put straight back, at no cost in parts
- Warranted for two years from the day of purchase
Settling it before you order
Two things resolve this reliably. The first is the vehicle identification number, which a dealer can put against the factory parts diagram to see which panel the bike left the line with. The second is the panel itself: whatever comes out of the housing is the reference, and if its outline does not answer to the element you have been sent, the code was wrong. Neither takes long, and both beat reasoning from a model name that has stayed the same while the machine underneath it did not.
The medium, and the limits of what it does
Once the code is settled the choice of material is straightforward. The standard weave filters at 80 microns and flows 5,050 litres per square metre per second; this nonwoven filters at 14 and flows 1,800. More is held back, less gets through, and the second half of that is paid on clean days as well as dirty ones. It buys no output either: no element dropped into a standard airbox does, and an A1 machine has its ceiling set by the licence category rather than by anything in the intake. The gain is a lower starting restriction that comes back to that value with a clean, instead of climbing quietly across a year.
Care and cleaning
Compressed air does nearly all of it. Direct the jet at the clean side of the PM293P14 and work outward across the medium so the dust leaves by the surface that caught it. Once a season, or whenever air stops being enough, wash it in hand-warm water with a small amount of mild detergent and keep rinsing until the water runs clear. Then leave it in moving air until it is thoroughly dry — heat of any kind damages the fibres — and refit it without treating it in any way. The Downloads tab holds Sprint Filter's own sheet.
Fitment & Compatibility
The P14 for the KTM 125 Duke, model years 2024 to 2026. Seven entries share this element across the current KTM and Husqvarna singles, and the Fitment tab names each of them. Because an older listing for the 125 Duke also reaches into these years, confirm the build year and the housing before ordering rather than going by the model name alone.
