DescriptionThe whole story▼
A clean white boot on the start gate is a classic motocross look, and the white Leatt Moto 5.5 FlexLock Evo delivers it with black contrast on the straps, the rear panel and the large Leatt symbol on the shin. It is the brightest of the Evo colours and the one that stands out most against a dark bike or dark kit.
Beneath the paint, it carries every element of the Evo: a SlideLock top closure with four forged aluminium Over-Lock buckles, an adjustable FlexLock lower boot, a rear torsion blade, 3DF ankle foam and a DualZone sole reinforced with a steel shank.
Key Features
- White shell with black straps and black Leatt logo on the shin
- SlideLock auto-locking one-way closure, operated by Velcro pull-tab
- Four forged aluminium buckles with Over-Lock system
- Adjustable FlexLock lower boot, intended by Leatt to lower ankle and knee forces
- Rear torsion blade plus 3DF impact foam over the ankles
- Steel-shank reinforced DualZone sole with extended footpeg zone
- Available from EU 40.5 to EU 49.5
Closure system
Getting in and out quickly matters between motos. The SlideLock closure at the top is a one-way sliding mechanism that locks itself and seals the upper edge; a Velcro pull-tab is used to open and close it. Lower down, four forged aluminium buckles use Leatt's Over-Lock system and sit on stainless-steel bases, which keeps the hardware robust.
How the boot protects
A TPU construction surrounds the shin, the ankle, the heel and the foot. The heel counter is reinforced TPU, giving support during riding and protection against impacts. Over the ankles, 3D-shaped 3DF foam adds a further protective layer.
Leatt's FlexLock lower boot can be adjusted to your preferred flex and is designed to reduce the forces passed on to ankle and knee. The rear torsion blade limits overflexion forwards and backwards, and its pivot bolt assembly has been improved for the Evo. Certification is CE to prEN 13634:2017.
Comfort and lining
Inside, the two-piece lining is padded and water-resistant, and an anti-slip reinforcement at the heel stops the foot from lifting. Leatt revised the ankle volumes and describes the fit as comfortable, even for wide feet. A flexible collar of elastic fabric and new front and rear bellows add freedom of movement.
Sole and footpeg contact
The DualZone sole combines different hardness zones, and its extended footpeg riding zone gives more control. A steel shank reinforces the sole, the 3D bottom shell helps you feel the pegs, the low-profile toe box helps with gear changes, and the heel-grip ankle design adds stability.
Where it belongs
The 5.5 FlexLock Evo is built for motocross and demanding off-road riding, with protection and bike control as its priorities.
What you should know
White shows every trace of mud and frame rub, so plan on regular cleaning if you want it to stay bright. The boot has no waterproof membrane; only its lining is water-resistant. Leatt lists a weight of 4,550 g, and the shell is made predominantly of TPU with synthetic leather, aluminium and rubber.
Colour
The white version is mostly white: shell, shin plate and large parts of the sole. Black is used for the buckle straps, the rear panel with its textured grip area, the collar and the Leatt logo on the shin, with metallic buckles and a small red detail on the side. The result is a sharp, high-contrast boot that looks fresh when clean and is easy to spot, but it needs more care than black.
