DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP KS DU020 removes the Panigale V4's key barrel and the weight that goes with it, which on a race-prepared machine is a straightforward trade.
Key Features
- Ducati Panigale V4 (2018–2020)
- Replaces the original ignition block, key and lock
- Around 350 g off the top yoke
- CNC-machined from solid Ergal
- IP69K sealed push button
- Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
The Middle Generation
Ducati revised the V4 in 2020 with new aerodynamics and electronics, and the cockpit changed with it. The ignition parts follow the generation rather than the name.
Cut From Solid
Ergal machined rather than moulded, which is why the body survives the knocks a top yoke collects over a season of being wheeled about.
Not for a Road Bike
A registered motorcycle needs its steering lock and, in most places, its immobiliser. This part assumes the machine is used away from public roads.
Race Kit Looms
Machines running a race harness expect a different arrangement, which is why some models appear twice in the catalogue under separate numbers.
Not a Road Modification
A registered motorcycle needs its lock and usually its immobiliser. This is a part for machines used on circuits.
Fitted Once
There is no service interval, nothing to lubricate and nothing to adjust. The switch is sealed and the body does not wear.
Uses the Original Plug
The connector is the model's own, which is why nothing is cut and why refitting the standard block is a two-minute job at the electrical end.
Machining and Anodising
Cut from solid, then the finish grown into the surface. Neither step is necessary for a switch and both are why this one lasts a decade.
The Second Reason People Buy
The original barrel has seized or the key has worn thin, and replacing it costs more than changing approach entirely.
Who Should Not Buy It
Anybody whose motorcycle is ridden on public roads, parked out of sight, or covered by an insurance policy that assumes a working steering lock. The part is honest about being made for racing and the buyer should be too.
