Thirty minutes, and the lightest header in this catalogue at 1.16 kg. The Ducati Scrambler's air-cooled twin puts both exhaust ports where a spanner can reach them, and the standard header is a small part to begin with — which makes this one of the least demanding header fittings available.

A Bigger Pipe on a Small Twin
Ducati's 803 cc air-cooled L-twin makes 73 PS and does its work below five thousand revs. Akrapovic widened the tube diameter beyond standard, which on a larger engine would cost low-rev response — here it does the opposite: 5.6 Nm at 4,400 rpm, right where the engine lives.
That suggests the standard header was restrictive enough that opening it helps everywhere rather than trading one part of the curve for another.
Measured With the Stainless Slip-On
Akrapovic took these figures with the header and the Slip-On Line (SS) fitted together. That is the intended pairing and the one the numbers describe. The header with a standard silencer has not been measured, and this page does not extrapolate.
Half a Kilogram of Titanium
1.16 kg is remarkable in absolute terms — less than a full water bottle for a component that carries exhaust gas from both cylinders. Ducati's standard part at 2.49 kg was never heavy, so the 53.4 per cent saving comes from material rather than from a badly made original.
Which Scrambler Is Yours
Ducati has sold the 800 Scrambler under a long list of names — Icon, Icon Dark, Nightshift, Full Throttle, Desert Sled, Café Racer — and they do not all share an exhaust route or a model year range. Akrapovic lists this header for the Icon Dark of 2021 and 2022.
The name is on the papers rather than on the tank, so check the registration document before ordering. Two Scramblers that look nearly identical in a car park can take different parts.
An Air-Cooled Engine on Its Way Out
Ducati moved the Scrambler to a revised platform for 2023, and the air-cooled 803 cc twin in this specification is now a closed chapter. Parts for it will not be made indefinitely.
That is an argument for buying the header while it is catalogued rather than deciding later.
