DescriptionThe whole story▼
Suzuki finally built a V-Strom that goes off-road properly with the 800DE, and this is the part that finishes the job. A machine with a 21 inch front wheel and long-travel suspension deserves better than the pegs it left the factory with.
Key Features
- Cast in one piece from Grade 5 titanium in Akrapovic's own foundry
- Octagonal profile with a Y-shaped reinforcement
- Central teeth over a wide platform for grip and weight distribution
- Designed for standing and heel-down riding on enduro terrain
- A pair of rubber pads included, fitted without tools
- Covers the V-Strom 800 family and the V-Strom 1050
- The original mounting hardware must be reused
Two Different V-Stroms
The V-Strom 1050 is a big V-twin adventure tourer built on Suzuki's long-running platform, and the V-Strom 800 is a newer parallel twin — including the 800DE, which is the first V-Strom aimed squarely at dirt. Different engines, different frames, same footpeg mount.
Watch the years. The 1050 ran to 2025 and the 800 family arrived in 2022, so a single part number covers two overlapping but distinct model histories.
Why a Toothed Peg Changes an 800DE
Standing on a bike this size demands a platform that does not move under the boot. Suzuki's standard peg has a rubber insert designed for road comfort, and it is exactly the wrong surface once the bike is off tarmac and the rider is standing.
Akrapovic reverses the default: teeth for grip, with pads supplied for the days when the ride is all road. The teeth bite a boot sole; the pads take them out of play in seconds.
Grade 5 and Salt
A V-Strom is a year-round motorcycle in most of Europe. Grade 5 titanium does not corrode, which on a part exposed to road salt, mud and pressure washing is worth more than the weight it saves.
Fitting Notice
The original mounting hardware must be reused during installation. Keep the pins and clips from the standard pegs.
The 1050 Runs Out in 2025
Suzuki ended the V-Strom 1050 after model year 2025, which makes this set one of the last accessories catalogued for it. Parts availability for a discontinued model tends to thin out quickly, and a titanium peg is the kind of component worth buying while it is listed.
Standing on a Big Bike
A V-Strom 1050 with luggage is well over 250 kilograms, and standing on the pegs on a gravel road with that mass underneath you is a different proposition from doing it on a lightweight enduro. The forces through the peg are correspondingly higher.
This is where the one-piece casting matters. A bolted-together peg has a joint that works loose under exactly that kind of repeated loading; a single casting has nowhere to move.
The DE Is the One That Needs This
Suzuki's DE suffix means a 21 inch front wheel, longer travel and a flat seat — the off-road specification. On a standard 800 or an 1050 the pegs are a comfort upgrade; on the 800DE they are a functional one.
If you bought the DE for what the DE is for, the standard pegs are the first thing holding the bike back.
