DescriptionThe whole story▼
The rear brake of a Beta RR 125 2T earns its money on wet roots. Slippery timber laid across a bridleway, a mossy stone step, a rutted lane with water running down it: in each case the rider is working the pedal with millimetric care while the tyre searches for grip. Accossato's Sintered (ST) material is made to answer such requests identically every time, wet or dry, and it fills the AGPP106 shape listed for the rear wheel of the RR 125 in 2018 and 2019.
Key Features
- Rear pads for the Beta RR 125 2T, model years 2018 and 2019
- Article number AGPP106ST: the AGPP106 shape in the Sintered (ST) material
- Accossato names a steady grip level at both ends of the temperature range, and in the wet
- Chosen for wet woodland, autumn lanes and riding all year
- A box holds two pads, one rear caliper's worth
- Accossato builds the same shape in the OR and STMX materials as well
- The front of this Beta takes the AGPA51, 2018 and 2019
- No German ABE presented to us; for competition and off-road use
Construction and Material Quality
The argument Accossato makes for the Sintered (ST) mixture is that its grip neither rises nor falls much with circumstance. Heat does not carry it away, cold does not blunt it, and water on the steel does not turn it into a guessing game. That is a useful promise at the rear of a trail bike, where the whole technique depends on the rider knowing what a given amount of pressure will do. The material is pressed into the AGPP106 outline, the shape that fits the rear caliper of this Beta.
Wet Roots and Millimetres of Pedal
Traction on wet timber is measured in fractions. Too much pressure and the back wheel steps out of line; too little and the bike gathers pace towards whatever is waiting at the bottom. The skill lies in holding the pedal at one pressure while the surface underneath changes from wet root to leaf mould to stone, and the rider can only do that if the brake responds the same way to the same input. The RR 125 2T helps here, since there is so little of it to get away from you.
A morning in the woods also puts the caliper through a cold soaking. Water sits in it while the bike is trailered, dries into a film of grit, and greets the next ride as a dull pedal that firms up after the first few applications. Rinse the rear end with clean water rather than a pressure washer held close, clear the mud from around the pedal linkage, and check how much material stands on each pad before a long day. New pads want a cautious first hour, so bed them in on ground where a locked wheel costs nothing.
Fitment and Compatibility
This entry belongs to the Beta RR 125 of 2018 and 2019 and to no other year of the model. Riders of an older or newer machine need a different article number, which is worth confirming before the wheel comes out rather than afterwards. The two pads share a caliper and share a service life, so they are replaced together and arrive together in one box. Up front the AGPA51 covers the same two seasons, and Accossato's disc range offers nothing for this bike.
Road Approval
We have received neither a test report nor a German ABE for the AGPP106ST. It is listed accordingly as a competition part, for tracks and closed ground.
