DescriptionThe whole story▼

The 2024 Zero DS with the ZF17.3 delivers its torque instantly, which makes brisk riding on winding roads great fun. For the rear caliper, Accossato offers the AGPA29 pad in the EV1 street/track compound, which the company says gives excellent grip for street riding and amateur track use. It is for riders who want a sportier rear brake to help settle the bike into corners on fast roads and during the occasional amateur circuit day.

Key Features

  • Rear brake pads for the Zero DS, 2024
  • Listed for the DS ZF17.3
  • AGPA29 shape in the EV1 street/track compound, code AGPA29EV1
  • Excellent grip for spirited road riding and amateur track days, per Accossato
  • Firmer bite at the pedal
  • Two pads per box for the rear caliper
  • No German ABE on file; for track use

Construction and Material Quality

EV1 is Accossato's material for riders who combine spirited road riding with occasional circuit days, and the company describes its grip as excellent in both. At the rear of the 2024 DS, it gives a firmer, more immediate pedal response than the everyday materials. It is also designed for long life and limited fade. The AGPA29 is also listed in OR, ST and STMX. Two pads come in the box.

Using the Rear Brake to Corner

Experienced riders use a touch of rear brake on corner entry to stabilise the chassis and tighten the line. On an electric bike without engine braking in the usual sense, that technique can be especially useful. A sportier rear pad gives a clearer response to small pedal inputs, making it easier to fine-tune. On a closed circuit, remember that dual-sport tyres may limit how hard you can brake.

Preparation

Before a fast ride or track day, check rear pad thickness, the disc and fluid. When fitting new pads, clean the pistons, pump the pedal until firm and bed them in with progressively firmer stops.

Fitment and Compatibility

This sporty rear pad is catalogued for one model year only, the 2024 DS, which Accossato records with the ZF17.3 battery. Riders of a 2014 to 2017 DS should look for the AGPP91 shape instead. To pair it with a matching front, the 2024 bike takes the AGPA96, also offered in EV1, while the earlier front caliper uses the AGPA92. Pads for 2018 to 2023 do not appear in our data.

Road Approval

No German ABE or test documents are available to us for this pad. It is offered for track days and competition.

Scope of Delivery

One box with two EV1 rear pads for the rear caliper of the Zero DS.
