DescriptionThe whole story

A full day on the Hyperstrada 939 might take in a motorway, a mountain pass, a town centre and a fuel stop every couple of hours, and the clutch hand is involved in all of it. What tires the hand over such a day is not one hard pull but hundreds of ordinary ones, each made with the fingers slightly stretched. Accossato's ESD082 replaces the clutch lever of the 2016 to 2018 Hyperstrada 939 with a lever machined from aluminium, and its distance to the grip can be set to reduce that stretch.

Key Features

  • For the Hyperstrada 939, 2016 to 2018
  • Clutch lever for the original clutch mounting
  • Reach to the grip adjustable
  • Three lengths, with the standard approximately 138 mm
  • CNC-machined from a solid aluminium block
  • Anodised in two tones: black hub, coloured blade
  • No hinge, one rigid piece
  • Sold for track use, no German ABE documented

Construction and Material Quality

Over a long day a lever is pulled so often that small imperfections become noticeable, a wobble at the pivot or a rough edge under a finger. The ESD082 is milled from a solid aluminium block on CNC machines, which leaves smooth, even surfaces, and then anodised, the hub black and the blade in the colour you select. The reach adjuster is built into the hub next to the pivot. The blade has no folding joint, so there is no second point of movement that could develop play after thousands of pulls.

The Long Day

Hand fatigue builds quietly. On the Hyperstrada 939 it tends to show up late in the afternoon, when the fingers start to ache at each gear change and slow sections of road feel more tiring than they should. Two things reduce it. First, bring the blade close enough that the fingers pull from a gently curved position instead of a stretched one; the adjuster does exactly this.

Second, consider the long blade, made in blue, gold, green and orange. Its extra length lets the fingers work further from the pivot, and the lighter pull that results adds up over hundreds of gear changes. At fuel stops, opening and closing the hands a few times helps as well.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's entry for the ESD082 on the Hyperstrada 939 covers 2016 to 2018, with 2018 listed as its own model year. The EDB012 brake lever is listed for the same bike and period. If your bike is the earlier Hyperstrada 821, please use its separate product page.

Road Approval

For this lever there is no German ABE on file. We offer it for circuit riding.
