DescriptionThe whole story▼
The left-hand switch block for an RS 660 running an I2M dashboard, machined from Ergal and anodised black.
Key Features
- Aprilia RS 660 (2020–2026)
- Wired for the I2M dashboard
- Black anodised Ergal 7075
- CNC-machined from solid
- Military-specification sealed elements
For the I2M System
The signals from this block are read by the I2M dashboard rather than by Aprilia's electronics. Button behaviour is defined in that unit's configuration, which is where the flexibility of the system lies.
Common in Club Racing
I2M's displays turn up throughout Italian club and national racing because they log properly at a price a privateer can reach. It is equipment bought by people paying for their own season.
The Dash Comes First
This block belongs to an installation that already has the dashboard and the loom to support it. On a motorcycle still running its original electronics it has nowhere to send anything.
A Cup Bike Grown Up
Aprilia's one-make series produced a generation of well-sorted RS 660s, and the ones that carried on into open classes are exactly the machines that end up with logging systems fitted.
Black Anodised
One finish, converted into the aluminium. On a race motorcycle the surface is chosen for how it withstands cleaning and handling rather than for its appearance on a stand.
Sealed Elements
Military-specification switches enclosed within the machined body. Hot washing between sessions is the most reliable way to finish switchgear on a competition bike.
Removed and Refitted
A race bike comes apart between rounds. A body cut from solid tolerates that indefinitely where a moulded housing with clips begins to feel loose after a handful of rebuilds.
What Gets Logged
A button on a data system is an input to be recorded and interpreted, most often as a lap marker or a page change. It is used during a session rather than between them, which is a duty cycle no road control approaches.
A Hundred Horsepower, 183 Kilograms
The RS 660's appeal to privateers is not its power but its weight and its willingness to be worked on. Teams have found considerably more in the platform than Aprilia advertised, which is why it keeps appearing in national paddocks.
