The JP ES 061 closes the XSR700's sidestand circuit so the bike runs with the stand removed.

Built to Be Rebuilt
Yamaha actively encouraged customisation of the XSR and the aftermarket responded. On a great many of these bikes the stand is replaced or deleted entirely.
Why It Goes
Sometimes for a track conversion, more often because a builder is fitting rearsets or an exhaust that fouls it. Either way the switch leaves with the stand.
The Circuit Reads Open
Which the ECU treats as a deployed stand. The engine stops in gear and the build cannot be commissioned until the loop is closed.
Closing It Cleanly
This unit supplies the expected state rather than a bridged connector. On a bike built around how it looks, a permanently lit warning lamp is not acceptable.
The CP2 in a Retro Chassis
The 270 degree crank's uneven pulse suits the XSR's styling far better than a smooth inline four would. It is the reason the bike works.
Nine Model Years
The fitment runs from 2016 to 2024. Yamaha revised the styling partway through and left the sidestand wiring alone.
Nothing Cut
The original connector is used, which matters on a custom build likely to be returned to standard before a sale.
Five Minutes
One plug near the swingarm pivot, reached without removing anything. It is the simplest item on the list.
Still Registered
Most XSRs remain road bikes. If the stand is still there, the interlock should be too, whatever else has been changed.
Encouraged by the Factory
Yamaha ran a marketing programme built entirely around customised XSRs, commissioning builders and publishing the results. Manufacturers rarely invite owners to take a new motorcycle apart, and the aftermarket around this one reflects that invitation.
