DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP KS SU011 replaces the GSX-R 1000's ignition block with a sealed push button, which takes the lock, the key and about three hundred and fifty grams off the top yoke.
Key Features
- Suzuki GSX-R 1000 (2012–2021)
- Replaces the original ignition block, key and lock
- Around 350 g off the top yoke
- CNC-machined from solid Ergal
- IP69K sealed push button
- Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
Thirty Years of Grids
The GSX-R has been the default club racing superbike for longer than most riders have held a licence, and the aftermarket around it reflects that.
Reversible
The standard block refits on its own fasteners with its own connector. Keeping it in a labelled bag is the whole of the requirement.
Anodised
Colour converted into the aluminium rather than laid on top, which is why it still looks the same after a season of brake cleaner.
Race Kit Looms
Machines running a race harness expect a different arrangement, which is why some models appear twice in the catalogue under separate numbers.
Keyless Between Sessions
No fumbling with gloves on, no key left in a barrel while the bike sits on stands, and nothing to lose in a paddock full of people.
Weight Where It Counts
Losing mass at the steering head helps a motorcycle change direction more than losing the same mass under the seat. That is the argument in one sentence.
Weight on the Steering Head
Every gram above the fork crown resists the rider's input twice: once turning in and once picking the bike up. It is the most expensive mass on a motorcycle.
The Look
It sits in the centre of the cockpit and it changes how the bike reads from the saddle. That is a real reason people buy it and not a shameful one.
Nothing to Learn
One button, one function. Riders who have used a race bike will recognise it immediately and riders who have not will after one press.
Model Specific, and Why
The plate follows the yoke's shape and hole spacing, the connector follows the model's loom, and the wiring length follows where the block sat. Four things have to match, which is why the catalogue lists motorcycles rather than sizes.
