DescriptionThe whole story▼
A quick-action throttle on a ZX-4RR displaces the right-hand controls. The JP PDQ KA014 carries them on a bar clamp of their own, anodised titanium.
Key Features
- Kawasaki ZX-4 RR (2024–2026)
- For quick-action throttle installations
- Titanium anodised Ergal 7075
- CNC-machined from solid
- Military-specification switch elements
- Pre-wired for the original connector
An Inline Four That Revs to Sixteen Thousand
The ZX-4RR's engine is the reason it exists. Four cylinders, 399 cc, a ram-air intake and a rev ceiling nothing else in the class approaches. It has to be kept spinning to be quick, which shapes how the motorcycle is ridden and what the rider wants from the throttle.
Why Shorten the Action
On an engine with no low-rev torque to fall back on, the speed at which the throttle can be opened out of a corner matters more than on a bigger bike. A quarter turn instead of a third is a modest change that riders on small four-cylinder machines notice immediately.
The Electrical Consequence
The standard switch housing is built around the throttle tube and cannot survive its replacement. This unit takes over the starter and kill controls on an independent clamp, wired to Kawasaki's own connector, so the ECU sees no change and no fault code appears.
Set Where the Thumb Falls
Because the mounting is separate from the throttle, position and angle are chosen by the rider rather than dictated by the tube. On a small bike with a tight riding position that adjustability is worth more than it sounds.
Sealed Contacts
Military-specification switch elements inside a body milled from one block. A ZX-4RR used at track days is washed hot and vibrated hard, and ingress rather than button wear is what finishes switchgear in that setting.
One Finish
Titanium only. Against the green and black bodywork it reads as a deliberate machined component rather than a replacement part, which is what an owner fitting one is generally after.
