DescriptionThe whole story▼
A third of the weight of the standard silencer, gone. On a Ténéré 700 that is 1.6 kg removed from high on the right-hand side, behind the rider, which is the single worst place on an adventure bike to carry mass. The Akrapovic Slip-On Line (Titanium) S-Y7SO5-HGJT takes the stock 4.8 kg unit down to 3.2 kg and adds 2.8 Nm at 5,300 rpm while keeping EC and ECE type approval.
Key Features
- 3.2 kg against 4.8 kg standard — a 33.3 % saving, taken from the highest and furthest-back point of the bike
- 2.3 PS (1.7 kW) more at 5,200 rpm and 2.8 Nm more at 5,300 rpm: gains placed low in the range, where a Ténéré works on loose ground
- Part of the Akrapovic Durability Reimagined range, built for a harder life than a road silencer
- Handmade carbon fibre heat shield and end cap, with an imprinted pattern on the titanium muffler body
- Fits the Ténéré 700 World Raid as well as the standard machine
- Compatible with the original Yamaha side cases
- EC and ECE type approved, plug-and-play in about 30 minutes with no remapping
Built for the Way a Ténéré Is Used
The Durability Reimagined range exists because adventure bikes fall over. Akrapovic reworked the muffler shape and construction for this line specifically to survive impacts, grit and the constant vibration of a big single-purpose twin on corrugations, rather than optimising purely for the lowest possible mass. The imprinted surface on the titanium body is part of that: a pressed texture stiffens thin-wall titanium against denting.
The heat shield is carbon fibre and hand-laid, which keeps the rider's boot and any soft luggage away from the hottest part of the muffler. It is the part most likely to take the first hit in a low-speed drop, and it is replaceable.
Performance and Sound
Both measured gains sit around 5,200 to 5,300 rpm. That is deliberate and it is the right choice for this machine: the CP2 twin in the Ténéré spends its working life between 3,000 and 6,000 rpm, and 2.8 Nm there is worth more than a peak figure at the redline. Peak power rises from 72.0 PS to 73.9 PS.
The tone deepens noticeably without becoming intrusive on a long day, and a noise insert is included for circuits or events with their own limit.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-Y7SO5-HGJT fits the Yamaha Ténéré 700 from model year 2019 through 2026, including the World Raid version with its larger tanks. The original Yamaha side case system mounts over it unchanged. An optional stainless steel header, E-Y7R3, is available from Akrapovic as a separate item; it is not required and it does not carry road approval.
Road Approval
EC type approval and ECE type approval. Both certificates ship with the exhaust and can be downloaded from this page, so the silencer is a legal replacement for road use in the European Union with no entry in the vehicle documents required.
