DescriptionThe whole story▼
3.6 PS and 3.6 Nm, both at 6,800 rpm. That symmetry is not a rounding coincidence — it is what happens when a restriction is removed from the middle of the rev range rather than the top, and on a touring machine like the 800MT the middle is where the engine actually works.
Key Features
- 2.86 kg against the standard 4.73 kg: 1.87 kg and 39.5 per cent less
- 3.6 PS (2.6 kW) and 3.6 Nm, both measured at 6,800 rpm, right in the touring rev range
- Peak output 94.0 PS against the standard 90.4 PS
- Works with the original CFMOTO pannier system, so a loaded bike loses nothing
- Titanium outer sleeve with a carbon fibre end cap and a carbon fibre heat shield
- Certified to EC and ECE type approval under Euro 5+
- Noise insert included, installation about 30 minutes with no remapping
Two Numbers That Disagree
Akrapovic's own marketing copy for this part claims a 47.4 per cent weight saving, 2.4 kg. The manufacturer's technical data for the same part gives 4.73 kg standard and 2.86 kg fitted, which is 1.87 kg and 39.5 per cent. The two do not reconcile, and the technical figures are the ones that add up, so those are the numbers on this page. A 39.5 per cent saving is worth having without being inflated.
Panniers Still Fit
This is the detail that decides the purchase for most 800MT owners. An aftermarket silencer that fouls the right-hand pannier turns a touring bike into a day bike, and plenty of them do. This one is dimensioned around the original CFMOTO luggage, so the bike keeps the capacity it was bought for.
One thing to note about the photographs: the carbon fibre heat shield is part of the kit even though the studio images do not show it mounted. You receive it.
What Stays Standard
This is a slip-on, so the header, the catalytic converter and the engine management are untouched. There is no remap, no additional module and no service-interval consequence, and the standard silencer bolts straight back on if the motorcycle has to be returned to original condition. Installation is quoted at around 30 minutes with ordinary hand tools.
The removable noise insert is supplied. With it in place the 800MT keeps a touring tone that a pillion will tolerate over a long day; without it the parallel twin gets noticeably harder-edged above 5,000 rpm.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-CF8SO4-HFTT covers the CFMOTO 800MT from model year 2024 through 2026. The product was developed and tested on EU-specification machines; fitment on bikes for other markets can differ.
Road Approval
EC type approval and ECE type approval to Euro 5+, certificates supplied and downloadable here. The silencer is a legal replacement part for road use in the European Union.
