DescriptionThe whole story▼

A Z650 ridden by someone still building confidence around a paddock stand benefits from rubber protection more than a bike handled by an experienced owner, since early lifts rarely go as smoothly as practised ones and a bare bobbin shows every small knock along the way. Accossato's version adds a sleeve at exactly that contact point, keeping the same M8 thread and aluminium body as the uncovered bobbin underneath, with nothing else changed between the two listings beyond that one addition, which is itself small but noticeable in daily use.

Key Features

  • Swingarm stand bobbins for the Kawasaki Z650, 2017-2019
  • M8 thread, with rubber protection
  • Aluminium, anodised finish, rubber sleeve on the bobbin
  • Sold as a pair, one bobbin per side
  • Seven colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, titanium, gold
  • Also fits other applications with an M8 swingarm thread
  • ST002 is the same bobbin without rubber protection
  • No German ABE on file; offered for track use

Construction and Material Quality

ST002's aluminium body, M8 thread and seven-colour anodised finish, blue, green, black, red, silver, titanium and gold, carry over unchanged into this version, with the rubber sleeve the only addition at the stand's contact point. Fitment to the Z650's swingarm stays the same either way, right down to the exact holes it threads into.

Protecting the Finish While Skills Build

Most riders improve their stand technique within a few attempts, but those first few attempts are exactly when a bare bobbin is most at risk of picking up a mark it never fully loses. The rubber sleeve absorbs that early clumsiness, so a Z650 owner can focus on getting the lift right without worrying about the anodised finish taking the consequences of still learning the knack of it properly.

Fitment and Compatibility

This rubber-protected bobbin fits the Z 650 from the same 2017 to 2019 span as ST002. Its M8 thread spreads well past this one bike: the Kawasaki Z1000, Z1000SX, Z800 and Z900, plus the ZX-10R and ZX-6R, take it within the brand, and the BMW S1000R and S1000RR, three Honda models and the Suzuki GSR750 take it outside. ST002 strips away the rubber but keeps the identical fitment for this Z650, leaving only the finish at the stand's contact point to tell the two apart.

Road Approval

No test or approval paperwork, including an ABE, is held for this bobbin, so it is offered for racing and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

Two rubber-protected bobbins are supplied, one per side, in the colour chosen at checkout. No stand, tool or mounting kit comes with the delivery.
