DescriptionThe whole story▼

This CY042 is finished with a green painted body over the same forged aluminium casting used across Accossato's painted range, carrying a 19 mm piston for dual-disc front brakes and an 18 mm pivot that suits both track days and ordinary road use. A black Revolution lever is fitted, with its reach adjustable by adding or removing inserts rather than by choosing a separate long or short part.

Key Features

  • 19 mm piston diameter for dual-disc front brake systems
  • 18 mm lever pivot, for track use and also suited to the road
  • Revolution lever in black, length adjustable with inserts
  • Forged and painted body in green
  • CNC-machined, fully made in Italy
  • Offset riser that limits body flex under hard braking
  • Stainless steel mounting screws and a zinc-plated bleed valve
  • Seals in Formula 1 compound material

Construction and Material Quality

The CY042 body is forged in aluminium, CNC-machined and then painted green, with the mounting hardware fitted afterwards exactly as on the other painted colours: stainless steel screws, a zinc-plated bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals. An offset riser in the clamp resists flexing as the lever is pulled hard, and the internal bore is shaped so the lever's passive stroke is reduced by more than 50 per cent against an ordinary radial unit.

Offset Riser and Passive Stroke

The offset riser built into this mount is there specifically to stop the body twisting or flexing as braking force comes on, which would otherwise soften the lever feel at the bar. Combined with the internal bore shape, Accossato states that pulling the lever closes more than half of the usual passive travel found on an ordinary radial unit before the pads actually engage, regardless of which colour the body is painted. The offset riser and the shortened passive stroke apply to this green body in exactly the same way as to every other colour in the CY042 range.

Fitment and Compatibility

This green CY042 fits the same 65 motorcycles confirmed for the rest of the line, including the Suzuki GSX-R600, Honda CB1000R, BMW R NineT, Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX and Ducati X Diavel; the Fitment tab has the full list with model years. The 19x18 cylinder with the Revolution lever is also available with black, blue, red, silver and fluorescent yellow painted bodies. Because the lever's reach is set with inserts rather than by a choice of parts, there is nothing extra to specify at checkout beyond the body colour.

Road Approval

This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

The package includes the Accossato 19x18 radial brake master cylinder with the black Revolution lever, in the green painted body finish. Stainless steel mounting screws, the zinc-plated bleed valve and the Formula 1 compound seals are assembled on the unit. The brake light switch (ID001 or ID002) and the fluid reservoir are not included.
