DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Ducati Multistrada 950 is the lighter, more approachable member of the Multistrada family, and many owners ride it from the first warm weekend of spring to the last track day of autumn. Each season starts with a proper look over the bike after the winter break. Accossato lists the FC107 for the Multistrada 950 from 2019 to 2021. Made entirely from aluminium on CNC machines, the cap is closed by a quick-closing pawl whose pin is offered in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Ducati Multistrada 950, 2019 to 2021
- CNC-machined, entirely aluminium
- Quick-closing pawl for fast opening and closing of the tank
- Pin in six colours
- Pawl available separately as a spare part
- Accossato code FC107
- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
CNC machining in aluminium is how Accossato produces the FC107, and the company says it gives the cap strength and a long life, qualities that count on a bike used through the whole season. Opening and shutting the tank is quick thanks to the quick-closing pawl, and its pin is offered in six colours. The design is new, and if the pawl is damaged, Accossato sells a replacement separately. On a bike that switches between road and track duty over the year, the cap will be fitted and removed several times, so a part built to last is worth having.
The Spring Check
A bike that has stood through the winter deserves a thorough look before its first outing. Start with the obvious: tyres, brakes, chain, battery and fluid levels. The fuel system belongs on the list too. Open the cap and shine a torch into the filler neck to look for dirt or corrosion, and check the seal for cracks, flat spots or signs that it has hardened. If fuel has stood in the tank for months, consider replacing it before the first track day. When the Accossato cap goes back on, do it with the engine cold, make sure the seal sits evenly and the pawl moves freely, and look for any weeping around the rim after the first fill. It takes a quarter of an hour and saves trouble later in the season.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato names the Multistrada 950 from 2019 to 2021 for the FC107. Earlier bikes are not on the list for this cap, so owners of an older Multistrada 950 should compare their bike with the application list or ask us before ordering. With us, the same cap is also listed for the Multistrada V2 and V2S and the Hypermotard 950.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE or expert report for the FC107 on record, which limits it to track use. Road bikes normally come with a cap that locks, and the Multistrada 950 should wear its original on public roads.
