The Footrest Question Is Answered Both Ways

Spark supplies this kit so that the original passenger footrest can stay on the motorcycle — and it also puts the bracket for removing it in the same box.

That is a small thing that saves a second order. An RSV4 that is going to a track day usually loses the pillion pegs; the same bike back on the road in spring usually wants them. Both configurations are in the kit.

104 Decibels, or 99

Spark measures the Force Evo at 104 dB at 5500 rpm as supplied, with nothing in the outlet. Fitting the optional dB killer brings it to 99 dB at the same engine speed.

Five decibels is the difference between passing at a strict circuit and being turned away, and having it available as a removable option rather than built into the silencer is why Spark quotes both numbers.

Titanium Link Pipe, Not an Adapter

What separates this article from a plain silencer swap is the pipe. It is titanium, built for lateral mounting, and it replaces the standard mid-section rather than clamping onto it.

That is where most of the three kilos come from. A silencer alone would save perhaps a kilo on this motorcycle; the section behind it is where the mass actually sits.

What Stays and What Goes

The headers, the collector and the catalytic section remain on the motorcycle. What leaves is the standard mid-pipe and silencer — the rear third of the system — and that is the whole of the change.

It is the reversible option in Spark's range for this bike. The standard parts go back on in an afternoon, which matters on a machine that is often bought used with the original exhaust in a box in the seller's garage.

Where It Sits in the Range

The Konix Evo version of the same idea is GAP0402T, louder at 109 dB and lighter at 1,6 kg. The carbon-bodied Force Evo is GAP0408C. Above them are the full systems, which add Spark's titanium headers and reach 4,1 to 4,7 kg complete.
