Ordering by number from the exploded view is the reliable way to get the right piece. This part comes from the same production line as the components it is fitted to. Öhlins supports its units with individual parts rather than only with complete assemblies.

Genuine Service Part

The part is identical to what Öhlins fits in production — same supplier, same specification. A damper that can be rebuilt is a damper that stays on the bike; that is the whole argument for original service parts. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise. Tell us the damper's model designation and year and we will match the number for you.

Getting the Number Right

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 00163-20. The published dimensions are dimension a 12.1 mm, dimension b 40 mm, dimension c 40 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Öhlins publishes an exploded view for every unit, and each position in it has its own number.
