DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ACCGP KT016 fits the KTM 1050 Adventure built in 2015 and 2016, the most modestly powered entry point into KTM's big adventure range and, for many owners, a first step up from a smaller motorcycle. A shorter, sixty-degree throttle rotation suits a rider still building confidence with a large V-twin's low-speed throttle response.
Key Features
- KTM 1050 Adventure (2015–2016)
- GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
- Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
- CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
- Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
- Standard throttle assembly refits at any time
An Approachable Way Into a Big Twin
The 1050 Adventure trades some of the outright power found higher up the range for a gentler, more approachable delivery, which makes it a common choice for riders stepping up to a larger adventure bike for the first time. A shorter throttle rotation suits that learning curve, giving less room for an unintentionally large input while a rider is still calibrating how this particular V-twin responds.
Low-Speed Manoeuvring, U-Turns, and Car Parks
A big adventure bike spends more time than its looks suggest in slow, deliberate manoeuvring: U-turns, tight car parks, picking a line through loose gravel at walking pace. These are exactly the situations where a wider throttle rotation makes fine control harder, and the GP Series throttle's reduced arc gives a rider more precise command over the engine at exactly these speeds.
A V-Twin's Particular Pickup
KTM's LC8 V-twin in this displacement delivers its torque with a particular immediacy off idle that differs from the smoother step found on later, larger versions of the same family, and a shorter throttle rotation lets a rider meter that immediacy more finely rather than simply working around it.
A Spring That Can Soften or Sharpen the Snap-Back
The progressive return spring's three external preload settings mean a rider can choose a softer, more forgiving snap-back while still learning the bike's throttle response, and firm it up later as confidence grows, all without buying a different part for each stage.
Built to Handle Years of Varied Conditions
Machined from solid Ergal rather than stamped sheet, the shorter throttle cam is built to hold its tolerances across the mixed conditions a well-used adventure bike like the 1050 actually sees: commutes, weekend gravel roads, and the occasional longer tour.
Installed Without Disturbing Anything Else
Fitting follows the standard Plug and Play process, using the stock connector and mounting points, with a diagnostic throttle position reset to finish. If a later owner prefers the standard throttle, perhaps after buying the bike secondhand, refitting it takes no longer than the original installation did.
