DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Multistrada 1260 S D-Air is the version of Ducati's big touring bike whose electronics work together with an airbag jacket, a bike for riders who take protection seriously. Protection also starts with basics, such as feet that stay on the footpegs when the bike stops hard. Accossato makes a touring footpeg for this model, the FT102, listed for the Multistrada 1260 S D-Air from 2018 to 2020: black anodised aluminium shaped on CNC machines, a red insert and a notch that improves the boot's hold.
Key Features
- Touring footpegs for the Ducati Multistrada 1260 S D-Air, 2018–2020
- Aluminium, machined on CNC equipment
- Anodised black; red insert
- Notch that improves the hold of the boot
- Front or rear footpegs, sold separately
- Replace the original footpegs
- No German ABE on record; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato has its workshop in Villastellone near Turin, and the FT102 shows its approach to small parts: aluminium, machined on CNC equipment, then given a black anodised surface and a red insert. The functional detail is a notch that increases the grip between boot and peg. The front footpegs replace the rider's pegs, the rear ones the passenger's, and each set is sold on its own, so you can start with the pegs you use yourself.
When the Bike Stops Hard
In an emergency stop, braking force tries to throw the rider forward. ABS lets you brake very hard without locking the wheels, but it cannot keep you in the seat. You do that with your legs: knees clamped against the tank, feet pressing on the pegs, arms extended but not locked. If a foot slips off a peg during the stop, the rider loses support, the knees lose their grip and the upper body drops onto the handlebar, which can unsettle the bike just when it needs to stay straight. Emergency stops practised on a closed area, for example during a rider training course, show how much work the legs really do. A notched peg such as the FT102 gives the boot a steadier hold during that exercise. The airbag is there for the moment when everything else has failed; sound technique and a secure contact with the Multistrada 1260 S D-Air help keep that moment from arriving.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list covers the Multistrada 1260 S D-Air of 2018 to 2020. The pegs are sold as front or rear sets. A workshop should do the fitting, observe the tightening values Ducati gives for the D-Air, add thread locker wherever the manual asks for it and then make sure the gear lever and rear brake pedal still meet your boots where you expect them.
Road Approval
The FT102 comes without a documented German ABE or Teilegutachten. We sell it for track use; on German roads the original footpegs stay in place.
