The standard grade of this family is listed for both 450s, and so is the racing grade. The two fine grades are not: the 14-micron element on this page is catalogued for the Guerrilla, and the 7-micron one for the Himalayan 452. Since the pair of them clearly share a filter box, that split is not a statement about what will physically go in. It is the nearest thing to a recommendation the catalogue ever makes — a view about where each machine is expected to spend its life, written into the listing rather than into a paragraph of advice.
Key Features
- Dry special nonwoven rated at 14 µm, flowing 1,800 l/m²/sec
- Around six times finer in rating than the 80 µm standard weave of the same airbox
- Holds particles in the depth of the material rather than only on its surface
- Dry throughout its life: nothing to dose after cleaning, nothing to migrate downstream
- About twice the filtering surface of other performance elements, in an unmodified box
- Washable, reusable, direct replacement for the factory panel, two years of warranty
Reading a fitment list correctly
A fitment list is a document with two jobs, and they are easy to confuse. It tells you what a part was drawn for, and it tells you what a supplier is prepared to stand behind. Those overlap but are not the same, and the second one is what you are actually buying. For that reason the Fitment tab on this page, not this paragraph, is the binding statement: order the grade listed against your own machine and year, and treat anything you infer from a shared airbox as an observation rather than a purchase decision.
What fourteen microns are for
Dust is the condition, not the calendar. A roadster that spends its summer on unsealed lanes, behind farm traffic or through roadworks meets more suspended mineral matter in a fortnight than another one meets in a year, and that is the whole case for the finer material. It is bought as a restriction, deliberately: 1,800 l/m²/sec against 5,050 is a genuine reduction, paid at every intake stroke, in exchange for what the mat keeps out of the engine. It is not a performance part in any reading. A drop-in element does not make a standard motorcycle noticeably stronger, and this one is the more restrictive of the two ordinary choices.
Care and cleaning
Air along the clean face of the CM274P14, blown outwards, is the service. Where the deposit has an oily character and resists that, lukewarm water with a mild detergent lifts it, followed by a rinse until the water shows nothing. Drying then takes as long as it takes, in room-temperature air, with no heater, no hot-air gun and no flame at any point; heat destroys the material and leaves no visible trace of having done so. Refit dry, untreated. The maintenance sheet is under Downloads.
Fitment & Compatibility
For the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 of 2024 to 2026 — one machine on this code. The standard and racing grades of the same family also cover the Himalayan 452, while the extreme grade is listed for that machine alone. Check the Fitment tab against your own bike and year.
