Where the line actually falls

By Sprint Filter's own account its filters are the most widely used in MotoGP, Moto3, World Superbike, Supersport and Superstock. That is a manufacturer statement rather than an independent measurement, and it is a fair description of where this medium belongs. The setting comes with habits attached: an air line in the garage, the case opened between sessions, an engine asked for everything it has for extended stretches. Those habits are what make the most open weave in the catalogue a defensible choice, because frequent attention offsets the wider opening.

And on this machine

A road-registered ZT 155G SR does neither of those things, and the element already made for what it does do covers road and track alike. No drop-in filter makes a production motorcycle noticeably quicker, this code is listed at close to three times the standard one for the same case, and its opening is wider rather than finer — if dust is the concern, the answer is at the opposite end of the range. The unglamorous benefit worth having, an intake restriction restored with compressed air instead of climbing until the part is binned, belongs to every element in this range, the standard one included.

Care and cleaning

Between outings an air line is enough: apply it to the clean side and work outward until the fabric runs clear. A film that will not blow off needs lukewarm water and a mild detergent, then rinsing until the water leaves clean. Drying is done in moving air at room temperature, with no heat gun, radiator or flame anywhere near it, and the SM276S F1-85 returns to the case dry.
