Spark describes this one as the total black proposal, and that is the honest way to sell it: at 4,2 kg it is the heaviest of the four articles Spark builds for the Hypermotard 698, and at 1.536 euro it is the most expensive. Carbon here buys a look, not a weight saving.
Key Features
- Euro5 approved pair of slip-on silencers for the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono.
- Force Evo design, carbon fibre case and carbon end cap.
- AISI 304 stainless steel fittings and the specific link pipe included.
- 4,2 kg against 5,2 kg for the standard exhaust.
- Total black appearance.
- Underseat mounting.
Why the Carbon One Is Heavier
It reads like a mistake until you look at how a carbon silencer is built. The fibre is a sleeve over a metal core, because the gas path has to be metal — so a carbon case is a metal tube plus a carbon shell, where a titanium case is just the titanium.
Spark publishes the numbers rather than hiding them: 4,2 kg here, 3,8 for the titanium Force Evo, 3,2 for the titanium Konix Evo. If weight is the goal, this is not the article.
What It Is the Article For
A Hypermotard 698 in black, with two black cans under the seat and nothing bright at the back. Spark's own phrase is a total black proposal, and on this motorcycle that is a coherent look rather than a compromise.
The end cap is carbon on all four articles in the range. Only here does the case match it.
Everything Needed Is Included
The article is a pair of silencers with AISI 304 stainless fittings and the specific link pipe for the underseat routing. Nothing on the motorcycle needs modifying and nothing further needs ordering.
The End Cap Is the Constant
Across all four articles Spark uses the same carbon end cap and the same AISI 304 stainless fittings. What is being sold in each case is the case material and the silhouette; the parts that touch the motorcycle are identical.
That is worth knowing when comparing them: the mounting, the routing and the approval do not change between the four. Only the two visible decisions do.
Underseat, on a Supermoto
The silencers sit under the seat, which on a Hypermotard means they are at eye level for anyone standing beside the bike and directly behind the rider's leg. A finish decision on this motorcycle is more visible than it would be on almost anything else.
Spark's Power Figure
Spark states a two horsepower gain for its titanium silencers on this motorcycle, from the internal diameters and outlet sizing, with the Euro5 approval intact and no other change to the bike. That sentence is written about the titanium articles.
We are not going to extend it to the carbon version, because Spark does not. What is documented for this article is the weight, the approval and the finish.
