- Part number SD 000 ensures straightforward identification and reordering.
- Compact, robust construction in keeping with Öhlins' motorsport heritage.
Safety & Certification Note
The Öhlins SD 000 is a universal steering damper and does not come with a type-approval certificate (Teilegutachten) for use on public roads in Germany. Riders intending to use this damper on German roads must obtain individual approval through the relevant technical inspection authority. Outside Germany, please verify the applicable road-use regulations in your country before fitting.
Performance on Road and Track
A steering damper is one of the most safety-critical chassis upgrades available. At speed, particularly under hard braking or on uneven surfaces, uncontrolled handlebar oscillation can escalate in milliseconds. The SD 000's hydraulic resistance intervenes precisely at the moment it is needed, absorbing the energy that would otherwise translate into a tank-slapper. The R&T designation confirms this unit has been developed and tested in racing conditions, then refined for everyday road durability — the same philosophy that makes Öhlins the benchmark for suspension across MotoGP, World Superbike and endurance racing.
Fitment & Compatibility
The SD 000 is a universal fitment steering damper. It is not a plug-and-play kit for a specific model; appropriate mounting brackets and hardware must be selected to suit your individual motorcycle. The wide installation length range of 36.5 mm to 223.5 mm accommodates naked bikes, sport-tourers, custom builds and café racers alike. Please note that product images may differ from the actual item received due to the variety of possible mounting configurations.
