DescriptionThe whole story▼
Engineered to the exacting demands of professional circuit racing — from the British Superbike Championship to the Isle of Man TT — the K-Tech DDS Pro rear shock absorber brings genuine race-department suspension technology to your Triumph Street Triple 765. Its five-way adjustability and fully rebuildable internals make it one of the most comprehensively specified production dampers available for this platform.
Key Features
- Five-way adjustability covering compression, rebound, bypass valve, hydraulic preload and ride-height — comprehensive setup capability without compromise
- Direct Damping System (DDS) with Bypass Valve (BPV) delivers precise low-shaft-speed control, maximising tyre contact patch and chassis feedback
- 32 clicks of compression damping adjustment for fine-grained tuning across a wide range of rider weights and track surfaces
- 32 clicks of rebound damping adjustment to dial in the ideal chassis recovery rate for every corner
- 16 clicks of BPV adjustment provide an additional layer of low-speed damping control, independent of the main compression circuit
- Hydraulic spring preload adjuster allows rapid, tool-free setup changes between sessions or riders
- CNC-machined high-grade components and potentiometer mounting points for telemetry integration — race-ready out of the box
DDS Technology & Build Quality
The K-Tech Direct Damping System centres on a slim-diameter piston rod that maintains consistent fluid behaviour across a broad temperature range. This thermal stability is critical in endurance and sprint racing alike, where damping characteristics must not drift as components heat up over a long stint. The BPV circuit works in parallel with the main compression stack, allowing the rider or engineer to tune low-velocity damping — the regime most relevant to corner-entry stability and mid-corner balance — without disturbing the high-speed setting already dialled in.
All external adjusters are CNC-machined and detented for positive click feel, so changes made in the garage or on the grid are repeatable and easy to reverse. Integrated potentiometer mounting points mean the DDS Pro is data-acquisition ready; connect a linear potentiometer and the unit feeds real-time suspension position data straight into your Aim, Motec or factory logger.
Road & Track Use
The Street Triple 765 S, R and RS share the same rear suspension geometry across the 2017–2026 model range, and the DDS Pro's 283 mm eye-to-eye length and 60 mm stroke are dimensioned precisely for this chassis. The length adjustment allows the ride height to be raised for aggressive track geometry or lowered to suit a shorter rider on the road. Whether the goal is cutting lap times at Snetterton or carving fast A-roads in confidence, the hydraulic preload adjuster makes it simple to compensate for pillion or luggage loads without reaching for a C-spanner.
Installation Note
Fitting this unit requires specialist tools and suspension knowledge. K-Tech strongly recommends installation by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre to ensure optimum performance and safety. Incorrect installation may adversely affect handling and void the warranty.
