DescriptionThe whole story▼
The superbike left-hand switch block for a 2017 or 2018 RSV4 running an APX system, machined from Ergal.
Key Features
- Aprilia RSV4 (2017–2018)
- Wired for the APX dashboard
- Black anodised Ergal 7075
- CNC-machined from solid
- Military-specification sealed elements
For the APX Installation
This block is wired to the APX system rather than to Aprilia's own dashboard. Its inputs are interpreted there, which means the motorcycle's original electronics are not involved at any point.
Superbike Rather Than Sport
JetPrime separates its race blocks by how far the build has gone. The superbike designation is for machines running a full competition electronics package rather than a road bike with a logger added.
Two Model Years Only
Aprilia revised the handlebar arrangement for 2017, so this covers those two seasons. It is a narrow fitment window and worth confirming from the registration rather than from a photograph.
The Final Litre Engine
The 2017 bike reached 201 hp from 999.6 cc, the end point of nine years of development on one displacement. Those engines remain competitive in national classes years later.
Black Anodised
One finish, converted into the aluminium. Competition bikes are washed hot and handled roughly, and an anodised surface takes both far better than a coating.
Sealed Elements
Military-specification switches inside a machined body. Between the wash bay and a wet paddock, race switchgear sees more water in one season than a road bike's does in several.
Stripped Between Rounds
A race motorcycle comes apart repeatedly. A block cut from solid handles that indefinitely where a moulded one with clips gradually stops sitting tightly.
Not for a Standard Bike
Without the system it was built for, this block has nothing to send a signal to. The electronics and the loom come first and this is what finishes the installation.
Winglets and a Six-Axis Platform
The 2017 revision brought both, which put the RSV4 ahead of most of its rivals for a season or two. It also made it a considerably more attractive base for a race build, which is why so many of these two model years ended up on grids.
