A Hundred and Eighty-Six Kilograms
Wet, which was remarkable in 2013 and remains competitive. Every gram was chased for a reason that had nothing to do with the showroom.
Plugged, Not Cut
The unit uses Ducati's own connector where the suspension harness ended. No wire is stripped or joined, which is what makes returning to the original legs an afternoon rather than a rewire.
What Stays Electronic
The rider aids, the engine maps and the traction control are untouched. Only the suspension's own circuit is answered by this part.
Keep the Standard Legs
They are worth more assembled than in pieces, and having them is what makes a later sale or a return to standard specification a straightforward conversation.
Potted Throughout
Suspension connectors live low and wet. Everything electrical inside the eliminator is sealed as a unit rather than assembled from crimps and heatshrink.
Why Conventional Legs
A fixed valving stack chosen for a rider and a circuit will beat an algorithm's compromise for that rider and that circuit. Everywhere else the argument is less clear.
Why the Controller Notices
It measures the winding resistance of the motor it expects to find. An empty connector reads as an open circuit, which is the clearest fault signal a controller can receive.
What Semi-Active Actually Costs to Own
A stepper motor, a position sensor and a controller sit on top of hydraulics that are otherwise conventional. When any of that fails outside warranty the bill is a substantial fraction of a complete conventional cartridge set, and the conventional set can then be revalved by anybody competent rather than only by the manufacturer.
