There are two Akrapovic fitting kits for the 2021 to 2023 MT-09, and they are not the same. This one contains a bracket and mounting material. The other, P-HF1596, also contains a muffler clamp and costs correspondingly more. Which one a given exhaust needs is not something to guess at.

Two Kits, Same Motorcycle
Akrapovic lists both P-HF1596 and P-HF1707 for the same model and the same three years. The contents differ — one has a clamp, one does not — and so does the price.
The manufacturer does not state which exhaust system goes with which kit. That is a gap in the published data rather than something this page can resolve, so the honest advice is to quote the silencer's part number to the distributor and let them match it.
Why a Clamp Might Not Be Needed
Some Akrapovic silencers arrive with their clamp already fitted or built into the muffler body; others expect one to come with the mounting hardware. That is the most likely explanation for two kits, and it means the choice follows the exhaust rather than the motorcycle.
Mandatory Either Way
Whichever kit turns out to be correct, one of them is required. Akrapovic uses the word mandatory, and it means the silencer has no means of attachment without it. An order containing only the exhaust cannot be completed on the bench.
What Is in This Box
The bracket that carries the silencer, and the fasteners, spacers and springs that hold the assembly to the subframe. Everything finished and to size; nothing to cut or drill.
Three Model Years
Yamaha gave the MT-09 a new frame and the 890 cc engine for 2021 and updated it for Euro 5+ in 2024. This kit belongs to the middle generation. The later machine has its own pair of kits.
Do Not Bin the Original
Yamaha's bracket detaches along with the factory silencer. Store the pair together under a label: resale is easier when a machine can be shown complete, and these are precisely the small components that vanish in a garage.
One Order, Not Two
Against the price of a silencer this is small change, yet leaving it out parks the bike until a courier arrives again. Once the correct kit has been confirmed, buy both on the same invoice.
Expect No Performance
Output, pull and note are untouched by anything in this box. Its role is to keep the component that does change them bolted where it belongs.
Road Approval
Outside the approval system entirely. Brackets and fasteners are not regulated for emissions or noise; legality rests on the silencer and the converter feeding it.
