DescriptionThe whole story▼
Tracer 7 owners tend to ride all year, and many of them plan at least one long tour each summer, often with a pillion and soft luggage. Accossato front pad AGPA97 in the Sintered (ST) compound is intended for that mix of winter commuting and loaded touring. Accossato lists AGPA97 for the Yamaha Tracer 7 from 2016 to 2026. ST is meant to keep its grip level whether the brakes are cold or hot and to respond cleanly on a wet disc.
Key Features
- Front pad AGPA97 in Sintered (ST) compound
- For the Yamaha Tracer 7, 2016-2026, per Accossato
- Accossato: high, constant grip at high and low temperatures
- Accossato: grips well on wet discs
- Same lever feel solo or two-up
- Pair of pads for one caliper
- Also made as OR, EV1, EV2 and ZXC
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato says its Sintered compound holds a high, stable grip level at both high and low temperatures, and that it grips well in the wet. For a sports tourer ridden through changing seasons, those two properties matter more than peak bite. Accossato's general claims for its pads, low wear, reduced fade through limited heating and strong braking, are passed on as the company's own statements.
Two-Up in the Rain
With a passenger and luggage on board, a Tracer 7 takes noticeably more effort to stop, and the front brake does most of it. On a wet evening that is exactly when a rider wants a pad that bites without a delay while the disc clears. On a long descent with that load, ST is designed to keep its grip steady as the pads warm, so the lever does not change feel halfway down. OR is the quieter choice for town-only riding, and EV1 suits dry, fast solo rides.
Year-Round Upkeep
Winter roads carry salt and grit into the calipers. Rinse them after wet rides, let them dry and check the pads slide freely. Renew the brake fluid at the interval Yamaha recommends.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list covers the Tracer 7 with AGPA97 from 2016 to 2026, including the earlier 2016 to 2020 bikes. The Tracer 7 has two front calipers, so two boxes are needed for the full front. At the rear, Accossato lists AGPP88 for 2016 to 2024. Replace the pads on both front calipers together.
Road Approval
AGPA97ST is supplied for competition and track riding, as no ABE or test documents are available to us.
