DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Leoncino 500 is at home where streets get narrow: old town centres, cobbled lanes, a square with a café at the far end. At walking pace, the front brake is a blunt tool, and experienced riders steady the bike with the rear brake instead, dragging it lightly while clutch and throttle do the rest. That makes a consistent rear brake more important in town than many riders realise. Accossato's TS012 is a cap for the rear brake fluid reservoir, CNC-machined from aluminium and anodised, and it is listed for the Leoncino 500 of 2017 to 2019.
Key Features
- Rear brake fluid reservoir cap for the Benelli Leoncino 500, 2017 to 2019
- Made for the original rear reservoir, according to Accossato
- Aluminium, CNC-machined and anodised
- Seven colours: blue, green, black, orange, red, silver, gold
- Can be matched with Accossato's FP001 oil filler cap for the same bike
- Check the application list before ordering
- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato produces the TS012 from aluminium, shapes it on CNC machines and anodises it in blue, green, black, orange, red, silver or gold. It is intended for the original rear reservoir of the motorcycles on Accossato's list, so on the Leoncino 500 the pedal, master cylinder, hose and caliper remain exactly as Benelli designed them. When the old cap comes off, check the original diaphragm or seal underneath it too, and fit a new one if it has hardened or cracked.
Walking Pace in the Old Town
Riding slowly is a skill, and the rear brake sits at the heart of it. Instructors teach riders to hold a little throttle, slip the clutch and control speed with light pressure on the pedal, because the front brake at walking pace tends to pitch the bike forward and upset its balance. On a Leoncino 500 threading through a crowded old town, that technique is used again and again, so the rear brake has to respond the same way every time. A spongy or vague pedal usually means the fluid has aged or air has entered the system, and it should be sorted before it makes slow riding harder. Look at the reservoir regularly. With the bike upright, the level belongs between the two marks, and fresh fluid is clear and light. Renew it at the interval in the owner's manual; the TS012 does not change that. When you fit it, cover the painted parts nearby with a cloth, open the reservoir only briefly because brake fluid draws in moisture, and wash any splash away with water at once. Fasten the cap gently. Before the Leoncino rolls again, press the pedal several times at a standstill and make sure it feels firm.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the TS012 for the Leoncino 500 from 2017 to 2019, where it replaces the cap on the original rear reservoir. At Inter-Pace it is also catalogued for the Leoncino 500 Trail, the TRK 502 and the Ducati Diavel 1260. For the same Leoncino 500, Accossato offers the FP001 oil filler cap, and every colour of the TS012 is available for it too. Compare your bike with the application list before ordering, above all if the rear brake has been modified.
Road Approval
We hold no ABE and no test certificate for the TS012 and therefore list it for competition and circuit riding.
