DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Accossato PRS 14x17-18-19 takes the scooter-suited 14 mm piston used throughout this part of the range and adds the PRS adjustable pivot system, letting the rider choose between 17, 18 or 19 mm without buying a different master cylinder. Accossato describes this spread as suitable for all uses, since the setting can be moved to suit the situation rather than being fixed at purchase. The folding lever carries a relieving eyelet, the body is natural anodised, and the lever is available in several colours with a matching adjusting knob.
Key Features
- 14 mm piston diameter, suggested for scooters and smaller motorcycles
- Adjustable lever pivot distance: 17, 18 or 19 mm to suit the situation of use
- Folding lever, long version, with a relieving eyelet (RST)
- Lever supplied in a choice of colours, with a matching adjusting knob
- CNC-machined aluminium body with a natural anodised finish
- Offset riser that limits master cylinder flex under hard braking
- Passive lever stroke reduced by more than 50 percent versus a standard radial master cylinder
- Stainless steel mounting screws, zinced bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals
Construction and Material Quality
This PRS unit is forged from aluminium and CNC machined in Italy, finished with the same natural anodising used across the 14 mm family, regardless of which of the three pivot positions is in use. Stainless steel screws, a zinced bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals are fitted to resist heat cycling and ongoing fluid contact. An offset riser built into the mounting clamp reduces deflection of the body under hard braking at any of the three settings, and the bore shape more than halves the passive stroke compared with a standard radial master cylinder. Hoses connect via the usual M10x1 thread.
Adjustable Pivot: One Lever, Three Settings
Unlike the fixed-pivot 14x18, 14x19 and 14x20 versions in this range, the PRS 14x17-18-19 lets the rider move the pivot distance between three positions on the same lever. A shorter distance within that spread lightens the lever action for everyday riding, while moving toward the longer end gives a more direct, immediate feel at the cost of a touch more hand force, mirroring the difference between the fixed 18 mm and 20 mm versions but without needing to change parts. The 14 mm piston itself stays the same across every setting, so only the leverage ratio, not the amount of fluid moved, changes as the pivot is adjusted. Accossato rates the full spread as suitable for all uses, from relaxed street riding to a firmer track setup, which is the main appeal of choosing the PRS version over a fixed-pivot unit.
Fitment and Compatibility
This PRS master cylinder is sold without a vehicle fitment list, as a universal 14 mm unit for handlebars with a 22 mm clamp diameter. Before ordering, measure your own bars, confirm your brake system is designed for a 14 mm piston, and check that the calliper and disc already fitted match this bore size.
Road Approval
This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.
