DescriptionThe whole story▼
Many riders arrive at a motorcycle after years on a scooter, and the V7 III Milano, named after Milan, is a natural next step for them. One control catches them out: on most scooters, the left lever works the rear brake, while on the Milano it operates the clutch, with the rear brake moved to the right foot. The Accossato ESD037 is a clutch lever for the V7 III Milano 750 of 2018 to 2020, CNC-machined from aluminium, fitted at the original clutch mounting and adjustable in reach.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Moto Guzzi V7 III Milano 750, listed 2018 to 2020
- Fits the original clutch mounting
- Reach adjustable by the pivot
- Long blade in four colours for an easier friction point
- Standard length about 138 mm in all colours; short in five
- Machined from solid aluminium, anodised, black hub
- Fixed blade, no folding joint
- No German ABE documented, for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The ESD037 starts as a single aluminium blank. CNC machines mill it to shape, and anodising finishes it: the hub in black, with the pivot and reach adjuster, and the blade in the colour you order. The blade is fixed, without a folding joint, so the lever has one clear movement and nothing else. Anodising colours the metal itself rather than coating it, which keeps the finish intact through daily use in town.
When the Left Lever Changes Its Job
A scooter rider's left hand has learned to squeeze for braking, and in a sudden situation, habits win. On a motorcycle, pulling the clutch in an emergency does no harm by itself, but it is not braking, and the right foot has to learn to find the rear pedal instead. Deliberate practice rewrites the reflex. Start in a quiet car park: pull away, stop, pull away again, until using the clutch for moving off and the foot for the rear brake feels automatic. Learning the friction point is the second task, since a scooter's automatic transmission never needed one. Here the lever position helps: set the ESD037 so the fingers can hold it partly engaged without strain, with the take-up arriving while they are slightly curled. The long blade, made in blue, gold, green and orange, stretches the friction zone over a longer sweep of the fingers, which makes it easier to find while it is still new. On the V7 III Milano, the standard length is offered in every colour.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's entry for this bike is called V7 750 Milano and covers 2018 to 2020, which is the range for the V7 III Milano 750. The ESD037 replaces the original lever at the Milano's clutch mounting. For the right hand, Accossato's EDF016 covers the Milano over the same three model years. Should you want black or red, both exist in the standard length alone; silver is also made short.
Road Approval
No German ABE is on record for the ESD037, so this lever is sold for track use.
