DescriptionThe whole story▼
Designed for the 2008-2020 Kawasaki KLX 450R, this Accossato kit is following the Standard layout and taking the place of the factory rubber line. The kit is built around the rough, changing ground that motocross and enduro riding both throw at a brake system. Unlike the rubber original, the braided construction barely expands under pressure, so the rider gets a firmer bite at the lever instead of a soft, progressive one.
Key Features
- Braid available in twenty sheath colours to match or contrast with the motorcycle
- Fittings available in plain stainless steel or painted stainless steel in red, green, blue, black or gold
- Standard layout, following the same routing as the factory rubber line it replaces
- Kit supplied as 2 braided hoses to suit this specific layout
- Direct replacement for the factory rubber brake line on this specific model and year range
- Stainless-steel fittings at every connection
- Designed and specified by Accossato for this specific application
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's hose for the KLX 450R relies on an aviation-specification stainless-steel braid for its outer layer, built to outlast the rubber line it replaces, year after year, as fitted to the 2008-2020 production run. The connecting fittings on this kit are stainless steel, open to a choice between plain stainless steel and red, green, blue, black or gold painted finishes, consistent with the fitting material Accossato uses across comparable kits in its range. Twenty different sheath colours can be chosen for this kit, which hands the final styling call on the KLX 450R to whoever is ordering the kit. Together with the painted fittings, this allows many different colour pairings on the finished bike.
Standard Layout and Hose Routing
On the KLX 450R, the Standard layout means the 2 braided hoses supplied here take the exact path Kawasaki chose for the original rubber lines, as built for the 2008-2020 production run. This keeps the fitting job within normal service territory, since nothing about the hose path itself is new. The brake must still be bled fully once the new hoses are fitted, as with any hydraulic brake work.
Fitment and Compatibility
Coverage for this kit covers the Kawasaki KLX 450R for the 2008-2020 model years, built to the Standard layout. Note that the Kawasaki KLX 450R is also covered by a second Accossato kit; this one is specifically the Standard layout, so confirm which one matches your bike's configuration before ordering. The KLX 450R fitment here is exact rather than generic, appropriate for a model that is developed for the jumps, ruts and braking bumps that define serious off-road riding.
Road Approval
No ABE or parts certificate is documented by Accossato for this kit; it is intended for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
Included here are 2 braided brake hoses, matched to the Standard layout. As banjo bolts and sealing washers are not confirmed to be part of the kit, check your own hardware before fitting.
