This page is for the 550 cc Benelli Tornado of model years 2025 and 2026, and both figures are worth reading twice before ordering. An air filter is cut to a housing, and a model name on its own is the least reliable thing to match a housing against. Check the capacity and the year of your own machine against the two above; if either differs, this is not your element. With that settled the rest is straightforward: the newest bike on this fitment list, and a part meant to still be in its airbox long after the first service.
Key Features
- Made for the airbox of the 550 cc Tornado, model years 2025 and 2026
- Single-layer dry polyester weave — 80 µm filtration, 5,050 l/m²/sec of flow
- Takes the factory paper panel's place exactly: no cutting, no adaptor, no remap
- Around twice the filtering area of a typical performance element
- Regenerated with compressed air, never oiled, back in the box the same day
- Two years of warranty on a part specified to last as long as the bike
Two figures worth confirming
The safe way to order any filter is to work outwards from the machine in front of you: capacity first, then model year, then the element code — here 550 cc, 2025 or 2026, and PM209S. A Benelli of a different capacity is a different housing and takes a different part, whatever the tank says, and an element that does not seat properly is worse than an old one, because air then travels past the seal instead of through the cloth. Two minutes with the registration document settles it. If your Tornado is not the 550 of these two years, order from its own page instead.
Nothing worn in yet
A 2025 or 2026 machine has not reached its first air-element change, which makes this the one moment when the choice is genuinely open and costs nothing to make. Take it once and the item leaves the shopping list permanently: the panel is cleaned at each service and goes back in, for as long as Sprint Filter expects the motorcycle to be on the road. What it will not do is add power. A drop-in element does not make a standard Tornado measurably quicker, and buying one in that hope is buying the wrong part. This is a servicing decision with a long tail, not a tuning one.
Care and cleaning
No oil, no solvent, no additive touches this element at any point in its life. A compressed-air line played over the clean face and worked outwards handles the routine service. Oily deposits, as opposed to plain road dust, come away under lukewarm water with a small amount of mild detergent, rinsed through properly afterwards. Drying happens in moving air only — a flame or hot-air source will spoil the weave — and the panel goes back dry, with nothing applied to it. The PM209S maintenance sheet is filed in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
This element fits the Benelli Tornado with 550 cm³, built in 2025 and 2026 — the capacity and the years are both part of the fitment, not just the name. One panel per machine. The same code covers six further models across Benelli and QJ Motor, all built around the same airbox; the full list is in the Fitment tab.
