DescriptionThe whole story▼
Developed by the OZ SBK Racing division specifically for the BMW M1000RR K66, the Cattiva Magnesium rear wheel is the lightest wheel in the entire OZ range — forged from premium magnesium and engineered to deliver a measurable reduction in rotating mass that transforms track behaviour where it matters most.
Key Features
- Forged magnesium construction makes this the lightest wheel OZ produces, slashing unsprung and rotating mass for dramatic gains in acceleration, braking and direction change.
- Six-spoke Cattiva design, conceived by the OZ SBK Racing department, maximises rigidity and torsional stiffness without adding weight — critical for precision at high corner speeds.
- Reduced rotating inertia translates directly into sharper throttle response and more communicative braking feel on track.
- Made in Italy to OZ's exacting motorsport standards, ensuring the dimensional accuracy and reliability demanded by professional racing teams.
- Supplied complete with quality bearings, aluminium angle valves, and spacers (included only where required).
- Rear sprocket carrier included — note that the original BMW sprocket does not fit and a compatible aftermarket carrier must be used.
Engineering and Construction
Magnesium sits at the apex of wheel material technology: denser than carbon but far stiffer under torsional loads, and significantly lighter than any aluminium alloy alternative. OZ's forging process aligns the grain structure of the metal for maximum fatigue resistance — a process refined over decades of World Superbike and MotoGP campaigns. The result is a wheel that holds its geometry lap after lap under the sustained lateral and braking forces generated by the M1000RR's 212 hp inline-four.
The Cattiva six-spoke layout distributes load symmetrically around the hub while keeping material only where finite-element analysis confirms it is structurally necessary. Every gramme removed from a rotating component has a disproportionate effect on performance compared with static mass reduction, which is why teams in the Superbike World Championship continue to choose forged magnesium over all alternatives.
Track Use and Intended Application
This wheel is designed exclusively for closed-circuit competition use. It is not intended for road registration or public road riding. Riders campaigning the BMW M1000RR K66 at circuit level will find the Cattiva rear wheel reduces lap times through improved corner entry stability, faster direction changes and crisper drive out of slow corners. Part number C6271BM60X.
Fitment and Compatibility
This wheel is a precise fitment for the BMW M1000RR K66, model years 2021 through 2026 only. It is not compatible with other BMW models or year ranges. Fitment requires an aftermarket rear sprocket carrier — the original BMW sprocket carrier does not fit. Installation of suitable quality bearings (supplied) and, where applicable, the included spacers is required before fitting.
