Size chart MT Helmets Braker SV
| Size | Head circumference (cm) | Head circumference (inch) |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 53–54 cm | 20.9–21.3 in |
| S | 55–56 cm | 21.7–22.0 in |
| M | 57–58 cm | 22.4–22.8 in |
| L | 59–60 cm | 23.2–23.6 in |
| XL | 61–62 cm | 24.0–24.4 in |
| XXL | 63–64 cm | 24.8–25.2 in |
| XXXL | 65–66 cm | 25.6–26.0 in |

How to measure your helmet size correctly: Measure your head circumference with a flexible tape measure around the widest part of the head, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows. Measure 2–3 times and compare the value in centimetres with the chart. For values between two sizes, usually choose the larger size.
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without uncomfortable pressure points. A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

A long-haired cat with a small gold crown, orange eyes and a teal ball of yarn, drawn across the side of a cream-white helmet. THE KING is not a graphic pack — it is one illustration, wrapped around the shell so that the animal's face lands where your ear is and the tail runs into the spoiler.
About THE KING A7 illustration
The base is a warm off-white, gloss. The cat is rendered in greys and cream with heavy black line work, orange eyes and a crown above its head; teal waves and a wound ball of yarn fill the lower flank, with small orange fish scattered through them. The chin bar and spoiler are gloss black.
The cat is not a random character. THE KING is MT's own illustration series, and the joke is carried through the details — the crown is small and slightly crooked, the expression is unimpressed rather than fierce, and the fish are swimming away from it. A graphic that is funny at close range and simply well-composed at distance is a harder brief than an aggressive one, and it is the reason this design keeps working after the joke has worn off.
What makes it work rather than look like a sticker is the wrap. The illustration is drawn to the shell's curvature, so the cat's face is undistorted at the widest point and the composition still resolves when you look at the helmet from the front — which is the hard part, and the reason most character graphics stay confined to a flat panel.
Where the Braker SV sits in our MT range
MT positions the Braker SV as the entry point to sport-touring, directly below the Thunder 4 R SV, and the two are worth comparing before you choose.
The Thunder 4 R gives you a Pinlock insert in the box, sizes up to 3XL and a visor lock. The Braker gives you the same HIRP construction, the same tool-free screen mechanism, the same drop-down shade and a nose deflector, for meaningfully less money. If you want an anti-fog insert supplied and you ride through winter, the Thunder is the better buy. If you ride mostly in daylight and mild weather, the Braker is the same helmet class for less.
ECE 22.06 and DOT
The current European standard, mandatory since January 2024. It tests 18 impact points instead of the 22.05's five, at multiple speeds, adds an oblique impact against an abrasive anvil for rotational loading, and applies a Brain Injury Criterion ceiling. MT also holds DOT for this model.
HIRP, and what a thermoplastic shell is good at
The shell is HIRP — High Impact Resistant Polymer — MT's injection-moulded high-strength thermoplastic, at around 1,525 g.
A thermoplastic shell is not a compromised composite. It is heavier than carbon for the same strength, and it is far more consistent unit to unit, because injection moulding is a repeatable industrial process where hand lay-up is not. At this price it is the right engineering answer, and it is why a helmet like this can clear the same standard as one costing four times as much.
MT-QVSS visor change
Two buttons release the MT-V-28B screen; it clicks back on the same way. In gloves, at the roadside, with no tools.
A smoked screen is optional and not included. The clear one is fitted.
Sun visor
A single-action drop-down sun visor, operated by a slider on the left of the shell.
On a light-coloured helmet the shade earns its keep twice: once against the sun, and once against the glare that bounces up off a pale chin bar into your own eyes on a bright day — a small effect, but a real one that dark helmets do not have.
Anti-fog
The screen is prepared for Pinlock DKS435 and FogOff FOG010, and a nose deflector is fitted as standard to keep your breath out of the visor.
The Pinlock insert itself is not supplied.
Ventilation
Three front intakes with the exhaust hidden in the integrated rear spoiler. Air enters at the brow and chin and leaves at the tail; the spoiler creates the low pressure that makes the flow happen.
Retention and interior
An MT-Micrometric+ ratchet, and a fully removable and washable lining with speaker pockets for a universal UCS intercom.
The lining on a light helmet shows wear at the brow band before anywhere else. Washing it a few times a season is what keeps a cream-coloured helmet from looking tired at the front while the paint is still perfect.
Living with a printed illustration
The graphic is printed onto the shell and sealed under clearcoat, which is what protects it — and also what you are actually cleaning and polishing. The drawing itself is never touched.
Three things keep it looking new. Do not use solvent-based cleaners: petrol, brake cleaner and some insect removers attack clearcoat and will haze the surface over a printed graphic faster than over plain paint, because the film is thinner over the print. Do not park it face-up in summer sun for hours, and orange pigment in particular holds its saturation for years. And if you do put a light swirl into the gloss, a mild polish takes it out — one of the real advantages gloss has over matt, which cannot be corrected at all.
What it does not have
- No safety rating. The Braker SV is not in the SHARP database, and no ADAC or Snell figure exists.
- No Pinlock insert in the box.
- No smoked visor in the box.
- A pale shell shows dirt. Not a fault — a fact about the colour, and the reason it needs washing more often than a black one.
In the box
- MT Braker SV helmet — THE KING A7, gloss cream with the cat illustration
- Protective bag, user manual and MT Helmets stickers
- Nose deflector and clear MT-V-28B fitted; Pinlock and smoked visor sold separately.
