DescriptionThe whole story▼

A K 1300 S is often a high-mileage bike, because it was made for covering long distances quickly, and after many years its controls show it. The clutch lever is one of the parts that works hardest on any journey, and on an older bike it may have developed play at the pivot or still carry the scars of an old tip-over. Replacing it is a small job that makes the bike feel tidier. For the K 1300 S of 2009 to 2015, Accossato offers the AGS194 as a black clutch lever in original form.

Key Features

  • Replacement clutch lever, original form, for the BMW K 1300 S

  • Black
  • Left handlebar, for the hydraulic clutch
  • Developed by Accossato with value for money in mind
  • Improved resistance after damage or crashes, as Accossato says of its production process
  • One lever per pack
  • Listed for racing and competition; no ABE or test mark

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato offers the AGS194 as a replacement of the original type for the K 1300 S, so the lever that takes over from a worn one looks as if it belongs on the bike. The company developed its spares to give good value for money and claims increased resistance after damage or impacts, which it credits to the production process. The lever is black. Beyond this, Accossato publishes no technical data.

When the Old Lever Has Play

Play at the clutch lever usually comes from wear at the pivot, where the lever turns thousands of times on every long ride. Before you order, find out where it comes from: take the old lever off and look at the pivot and the bore in the mounting. If the pivot itself is worn or the bore is no longer round, a new lever alone will not cure the problem, and that part needs attention too. If the wear is in the old lever, the AGS194 is the fix. Clean everything, give the pivot a thin film of grease and fit the new lever so that it works the piston of the hydraulic clutch cleanly and springs back fully. Check the free play described in the K 1300 S handbook and the clutch switch, and test the clutch with the engine running before the next long ride.

Fitment and Compatibility

The AGS194 is given by Accossato for the K 1300 S across 2009 to 2015, from the standard and ABS bikes to the Motorsport of 2014 and 2015. Two alternatives appear on the same list: AGS12, which is black, and AGS13, which is silver, each for 2009 to 2015. If your original is black, put the photos of AGS12 and AGS194 side by side with it to find the match. Inter-Pace lists this lever for three further bikes, the K 1300 R, the K 1600 GT and the R nineT. The right-hand side takes the black AGD305, and if a tuning part appeals more, ESB002 (clutch) and EDB001 (brake) are the CNC levers Accossato names for this model.

Road Approval

No German ABE and no test mark have been documented for the AGS194; without approval papers, we offer it for racing and competition.
