DescriptionThe whole story▼
On a KTM RC8 R 1190 ridden mostly on the road, the rear brake is a quiet helper: it settles the bike in slow corners, holds it on a slope and steadies it in town. For that job Accossato offers the AGPA42 rear pad in its Organic mixture. It fits model years 2009 to 2015 and is aimed at owners who use their superbike for relaxed rides and short trips and who want a rear brake that is gentle, quiet and kind to the disc.
Key Features
- Rear pads AGPA42 for the KTM RC8 R 1190, 2009 to 2015
- Organic mixture, SKU AGPA42OR
- Long working life and reduced disc wear, per Accossato
- Soft, progressive bite for slow-speed control
- Quiet in traffic and on short journeys
- Works from the first press when cold
- Also available on this plate as ST and ZXC
- No ABE on file; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's Organic mixture promises two things: performance that lasts a long time and limited wear on the disc. For the rear of an RC8 R that spends most of its life on the road, both matter, because the rear brake is used lightly but very often. The company adds that all its pads keep heat under control so that fading is reduced, and that they still stop firmly. The compound is bonded to the standard AGPA42 plate.
Gentle Control in Town
Filtering through slow traffic on a sports twin calls for fine control, and the rear brake is the tool many riders use to keep the RC8 R steady at walking pace. A mild organic pad makes that easier, since it bites progressively and lets the rider trim speed without upsetting the chassis. It also stays quiet at low speed, which suits stop-and-go riding.
Because a rear pad often goes unchecked for a long time, look at its depth whenever the chain is adjusted. Keep the disc clean of chain spray, and if the pedal feels soft, check the fluid in the small rear reservoir. When fitting new pads, clean the piston first and pump the pedal until it is firm before riding off.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA42 for the rear brake of the KTM RC8 R 1190 from 2009 to 2015, covering the RC8 1190 R and the RC8 1190 R TRACK from 2011 to 2015. The front of the same RC8 R takes AGPA106, and Accossato also catalogues the DKS032 disc. The box holds one set for the single rear caliper.
Road Approval
No ABE or German approval mark for AGPA42OR has been supplied to us. The pads are offered for competition use.
Scope of Delivery
Two Organic rear pads, a set for one caliper.
