If the front wheel comes out for a new tyre or for painting the rims, inspect the discs while they are off. Compare their thickness with the minimum printed on each one, look for a raised lip at the outer edge and run a fingertip across the face to find grooves. Replacing a worn disc with one of identical size keeps the caliper position and the pad track exactly as the factory arranged them. Custom work is about expression; stopping should stay predictable.
