A flow rating describes a square metre of material. The decision it feeds into belongs to one particular engine, and that is where the P14 has to be argued rather than assumed. Handing back the greater part of a rated figure — 1,800 l/m²/sec here, against the 5,050 of the standard weave in the same housing — is a light thing to do under a small engine and a deliberate one under a larger. The CFMOTO NK 675 asks for more air per minute than the smaller machines this medium is also catalogued for, so on this bike the fine cloth ought to be a chosen answer, not a default.
Key Features
- Sprint Filter's P14: a dry, specially made non-woven fabric working at 14 microns
- Rated at 1,800 l/m²/sec — a figure conceded openly in return for the retention
- No oil in its construction and none after a wash; nothing can travel downstream
- Roughly twice the filtering area of a conventional performance element
- Enters the standard NK 675 airbox in the paper panel's place, mapping untouched
- Regenerated with compressed air, warranted two years from the date of purchase
The test worth applying first
Ask what the air is actually carrying on the roads this machine covers, and be specific about it: unsealed surfaces on a regular route, farm traffic in late summer, building work along a commute, a long dry season that puts grit on everything. If several of those are true, the fine material is right and the flow it gives up will never be missed. If none of them is, the standard weave in the same box is the better balance, and there is no sense in paying for retention the conditions never call for. This is one of the few decisions on a motorcycle where the honest answer depends entirely on where you live.
What a bigger engine changes, and what it does not
More capacity means more air drawn through the same opening in the same minute, which is why the concession deserves stating out loud rather than burying. It is not a warning: the surface area of a Sprint Filter panel is roughly double that of the usual performance element, and that area is what makes a fine medium workable as a drop-in part at all. What a larger engine does not change is the limit of the exercise: a bolt-in element does not make a standard NK 675 noticeably stronger, whichever material sits in the box.
Care and cleaning
Nothing is used up by servicing this element. Compressed air on the clean side, moved slowly enough to reach the whole panel, is the standard treatment; a fine medium rewards being done thoroughly rather than quickly. For an oily film, lukewarm water with a trace of mild detergent, then a full rinse. Drying is by air alone, at room temperature, with no heat gun, radiator or flame anywhere near it, and the SM290P14 goes back into the box dry and untreated. Its maintenance sheet is in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
Cut for the airbox of the CFMOTO NK 675 as built in 2025 and 2026, one element per machine. Three CFMOTO 675 models share this code; the 450-class NK is a different housing with a different number. The full list is in the Fitment tab.
