DescriptionThe whole story▼
Engineered specifically for the Ducati Panigale V4 R, the Öhlins TTX GP DU 468 is a race-bred rear shock absorber that delivers the kind of precise, consistent damping control that separates podium finishes from also-rans. Built around a pressurised gas damper with a fixed external piggyback reservoir, it maintains damping performance under the sustained thermal and mechanical stress of track use — lap after lap, session after session.
Key Features
- Fixed external piggyback reservoir keeps damping fluid cool and aerated, ensuring consistent performance under racing conditions
- 36 mm piston diameter provides exceptional durability and a significant step up in on-track control compared to the standard unit
- Independently adjustable compression and rebound damping lets you dial in the exact balance for your riding style and circuit
- Length adjustment (310 mm +4/−2 mm) gives fine-tuned geometry control for corner entry and drive characteristics
- 63 mm stroke and 95 N/mm spring rate matched to the V4 R's chassis dynamics and power output
- Factory-fitted spring part number 21040-31 ensures correct pre-load settings straight from the box
Race-Level Build Quality
The TTX GP range sits at the very top of the Öhlins product hierarchy — the same technology trusted by MotoGP and World Superbike teams, adapted for the most demanding homologation and club-racing machinery. Every component in the DU 468 is manufactured to tolerances that guarantee repeatable performance across a full race weekend, not just a single flying lap. The piggyback reservoir eliminates cavitation under hard braking and high-speed compressions, a common weakness of conventional twin-tube units at track pace.
Road to Track Versatility
While the TTX GP DU 468 is optimised for circuit use, its wide adjustment range means it remains perfectly usable on road. The combination of length, compression and rebound adjustability lets a skilled suspension technician set it up for everything from spirited road riding to full track-day or race configuration without compromise.
Fitment & Compatibility
This shock absorber is designed exclusively for the following application:
- Ducati Panigale V4 R — model years 2019, 2020 and 2021
Important installation note for the V4 R: the shock length must be set to 312 mm before fitting. To achieve this, unscrew the lower eye two full turns as described in the supplied instruction manual. Type approval (ABE) for Germany is in preparation. For best results, installation by an authorised Öhlins Service Centre is strongly recommended.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins suspension rewards careful fitting. We recommend having the work done by an authorised Öhlins service centre — and we are one ourselves: we fit, service and set up Öhlins components in house. If you would like us to handle the installation, just ask and we will quote it with the order.
