Port area sets how much oil can pass before the shims begin to lift. Needle geometry sets the shape of the adjustable range, not just its size. Rebuilding a piston means keeping the shim order, because the stack is the tuning.

Why the Original

The part number is the contract: it defines material, dimension and finish together. The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier.

Identifying the Right Part

The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 06208-10 in this case. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. Replacing a piston is a workshop job because the shim stack has to be rebuilt in the correct order. Needle geometry sets the shape of the adjustable range, not just its size.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 06208-10

Category: Piston Bands

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/06208-10_476d8657-8b51-4d36-8685-407080bdcdcd.png?v=1788877612
