The JP CJP 012H is the fuel controller for a SuperSport 950 whose engine has been modified far enough that the standard closed-loop correction has run out of authority.

The Facelift
New bodywork, updated electronics and a Euro 5 engine. The 950 is the same idea as the 939 with tighter emissions and a softer bottom end.
Interpolation Between Cells
The unit does not jump from one value to the next. It blends between neighbouring cells, which is why a smooth map produces a smooth engine and a spiky one does not.
What It Will Not Do
Raise the rev limit, alter ignition timing, change a riding mode or repair a mechanical fault. Everything outside fuel quantity remains the standard controller's business.

Nothing Is Written to the Motorcycle
The original controller keeps its map, its adaptations and its fault memory. Everything this unit does lives in the unit and leaves with it.
Weather
A map developed cold runs slightly rich when it is hot. The standard controller absorbs most of that; the remainder is the accepted cost of a fixed map.
Two Riders
The map is in the motorcycle, not in the rider. Anybody who takes the bike out gets whatever was written last, which matters on a shared machine.
Catalyst Removal
Taking the catalyst out changes back pressure and removes a component the factory map assumed. It is one of the strongest reasons to be running a programmable unit.
A Map Has No Ceiling
Unlike a fixed curve it can keep improving as long as somebody keeps working on it. That is the argument for the higher price and it is only worth anything to an owner who will do the work.
