DescriptionThe whole story▼
When Ducati presented the new Monster for 2021, almost everything underneath was redesigned, from the frame to the electronics, and the bike came out noticeably lighter. What it kept was the silhouette, and above all the tank, which has been the Monster's signature since the first model of 1993. Accossato lists the FC104 for the Monster 937 from 2021 to 2025, including the Plus and the 30° Anniversario. Machined wholly from aluminium, the cap has a quick-closing pawl with a pin in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold.

- Quick-closing pawl opens and closes the tank quickly
- Six pin colours to choose from
- Pawl available separately as a spare
- No German ABE on record; for the track
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes the FC104 as a new design, which suits a Monster that was itself reinvented for 2021. The cap is made entirely of aluminium on CNC machines, and the company says this makes it robust and durable. A quick-closing pawl allows the tank to be opened and closed quickly. You choose the pin colour when you order, and if the pawl is ever damaged, it is sold separately as a spare, so a single broken part does not retire the whole cap.
The Tank as the Monster's Face
The first Monster of 1993 was built around a simple idea: an engine, a frame, a round headlight and a muscular tank, with nothing else getting in the way. Three decades on, the tank is still the part that tells you from a distance what you are looking at, which is why details on top of it matter more on a Monster than on many other bikes. A machined cap with a coloured pin sits right at the centre of that shape, in plain view whenever the rider glances down. Keep the area around it clean and free of scratches: use a soft cloth, avoid resting gloves or a helmet on the tank while you refuel, and wipe away any fuel before it dries. The Monster 937 is a bike people look at closely, so small marks show.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the FC104 for the Monster 937 from 2021 to 2025, with the Plus named for 2024 and 2025 and the 30° Anniversario for 2024. The Monster 937 SP has an entry of its own, and the FC104 reaches back to older Monsters such as the 821 as well as across to the SuperSport 950. A look at the list before ordering confirms that your version is covered.
Road Approval
Accossato has no German ABE or expert report on file for the FC104, so it is a track part. The Monster 937 leaves the factory with a cap that locks, as most road bikes do, and on public roads that cap stays in place.
