DescriptionThe whole story▼
Suzuki launched the GSX-S1000 for 2015 as a naked roadster built around an in-line four with roots in its superbike range, and more than a decade later many of those first-year bikes have changed hands. A used one sometimes carries a quiet reminder of a tip-over: a gear lever bent slightly inwards, a scuffed footpeg, a scarred heel plate. Accossato's FT109 replaces the rider's footrest assemblies of the 2015 GSX-S1000 with an adjustable aluminium set that places your feet further back than the originals.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato was founded in Moncalieri, just outside Turin, in 1969, and the FT109 follows the company's practical line. The set is made of aluminium, and its shape serves a purpose rather than decoration. The footpegs are knurled, the tips of the gear lever and brake pedal carry the same texture, and aluminium heel guards give the heels a solid surface to rest against. Accossato calls the kit adjustable; its product description says nothing about how the adjustment works or how far it goes, so we quote no figures. You choose between an all-black version and black with gold details.
What a Tip-Over Leaves Behind
If you are looking at a used GSX-S1000, spend a minute on the footrests. A naked bike has no fairing to take the first contact, so in a slow fall the bar end, the mirror and the footpeg assembly on that side usually meet the ground first. A bent gear lever gives itself away when its tip no longer lines up with the peg. A brake pedal that has taken a knock can alter the free play at the rear brake. Small cracks near a mounting point are harder to see and a good reason for caution. Straightening metal that has been bent once is rarely a lasting repair, which is why many owners prefer to start again with a complete set. On a GSX-S1000 that is heading for track days, the FT109 does that and changes the riding position at the same time: the feet go further back, and the posture moves away from the upright stance of the stock bike towards one that suits a closed circuit.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the FT109 for the Suzuki GSX-S1000 of the 2015 model year only. Later model years are not named for this kit, so we cannot confirm fitment beyond 2015. The shift pattern remains the standard one. As the kit takes over the gear lever and the rear brake pedal, fitting by a specialist workshop makes sense: the shift linkage has to be set so that every gear engages cleanly, the brake pedal needs a little free play, and the brake light must respond as soon as you press it. Bolts go in at the torque Suzuki specifies, with thread locker wherever the service data asks for it.
Road Approval
We have no German ABE or parts report (Teilegutachten) on file for the FT109, so we sell it for closed-circuit use and not for the GSX-S1000 on public roads.
