Ordering Sides

Two article numbers cover the two hands of this silencer, and the difference is not cosmetic. Fit a right-hand case on the left of a motorcycle and the diagonal cut points inward, toward the wheel and the rider's boot, instead of away from the machine.

For a twin installation, order one of each. It is the single most common error on this article and it is not obvious from a photograph.

Twelve Hundred Grams of Stainless

Steel rather than titanium is the correct choice on a custom, and not only because of price. A custom exhaust gets modified: cut, re-welded, re-hung, sometimes twice before the owner is happy. AISI 304 tolerates that. Titanium is unforgiving of a second weld and it does not like being handled by anybody without the right filler and a gas shield.

At 1.2 kg the case is light enough that nobody is choosing titanium for the weight anyway.

Where the Shape Came From

The conical body with a slash cut is a hot-rod idiom rather than a motorcycle one — it belongs to the same visual family as a side pipe on an American V8. Spark borrowed it deliberately, down to the name, and the result is a silencer that sits comfortably on a machine built in that tradition and awkwardly on anything else.

Finish and Options

Delivered in scotch-brite. Black matte ceramic is offered as an option, applied to order. Spark does not build a factory Black Series version of the Hot Road, so the ceramic route is the way to a dark case.

Not a Road Part

No homologation exists for this article and none can be issued, because approval attaches to a system on a named motorcycle. On a custom registered under national single-vehicle rules that may be handled differently — that is a question for your inspector, not for a catalogue.
