DescriptionThe whole story▼
This 14x19 variant pairs the same scooter-suited 14 mm piston and mixed-use 19 mm pivot distance as its fixed-lever sibling with a folding lever instead. The folding design hinges back under an impact rather than breaking outright, which suits bikes that get parked, dropped or knocked in tight spaces more often than they get crashed at speed. Everything else carries over unchanged: the relieving eyelet, the natural anodised body, and a lever available in a choice of colours with a matching adjusting knob.
Key Features
- 14 mm piston diameter, suggested for scooters and smaller motorcycles
- 19 mm fixed lever pivot distance for mixed track and street use
- Folding lever, long version, with a relieving eyelet (RST)
- Lever supplied in a choice of colours, with a matching adjusting knob
- CNC-machined aluminium body with a natural anodised finish
- Offset riser that limits master cylinder flex under hard braking
- Passive lever stroke reduced by more than 50 percent versus a standard radial master cylinder
- Stainless steel mounting screws, zinced bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals
Construction and Material Quality
Aluminium forging, CNC machining and a natural anodised finish, all carried out in Italy, form the basis of this master cylinder, just as they do across the wider 14 mm family. Stainless steel is used for the screws, zinced steel for the bleed valve, and Formula 1 compound for the seals, a combination built to survive heat cycling and ongoing exposure to brake fluid. A reinforced offset riser in the mounting clamp limits deflection under hard braking, and the internal bore shape cuts the passive stroke by over half relative to a standard radial unit. Hose fitting uses the familiar M10x1 thread.
Folding Convenience on a Scooter-Sized Master Cylinder
The move from fixed to folding changes nothing about how this master cylinder brakes: the 14 mm piston and 19 mm pivot distance, Accossato's mixed track and street setting, stay exactly as they are on the fixed version. What changes is resilience at the lever tip. A folding lever can swing back on its pivot when struck, rather than snapping, which is a practical advantage on scooters and smaller motorcycles that spend a lot of time being wheeled, parked and manoeuvred at low speed in busy spaces. The relieving eyelet, lever colour range and adjusting knob all remain identical to the fixed-lever version.
Fitment and Compatibility
There is no vehicle-specific fitment list for this unit: it is a universal 14 mm radial brake master cylinder intended for handlebars with a 22 mm clamp diameter. Check that measurement on your own bars, confirm your brake line and calliper suit a 14 mm bore, and match the piston size to your disc and calliper before ordering.
Road Approval
This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
The package includes the Accossato 14x19 radial brake master cylinder fitted with the folding, long lever with relieving eyelet, in the colour selected, together with the matching mounting nut. Stainless steel mounting screws, the zinced bleed valve and the Formula 1 compound seals are assembled on the unit. The stop light switch, available separately as ID001 or ID002, and the fluid reservoir are not included and must be purchased separately.
